She gently pats Karey's hair dry. The silence hanging around them though comfortable made Rain worry about the older woman's state of mind. Karey had sobbed hard while narrating Kane's alarming setback back at the hospital. She too couldn't believe that Kane had been stabbed and wounded gravely. But, she'd been right all along about who'd been the perpetrator. Lawrence was a twisted man for doing what he'd done to Karey's brother. Now, Rain feared more for Nillan's and Killan's safety. With how things were going Lawrence could badly hurt them as he was emotionally hurting their mother. The older woman had only calmed after receiving a firm assurance from the nurse charged with Kane's handling back at the hospital.
