Fiona’s POV I didn’t want them to leave. But saying that wouldn’t change anything. So, I stood there, arms folded, weight shifting from foot to foot, watching Roan and Marella secure the last of the supplies. The pups scurried around them, stuffing bags with whatever they could grab—blankets, clothes, and an alarming number of snacks. They packed like they were heading off to war. Their tiny hands moved fast, their faces scrunched in determination, desperate to prove they were capable. It was funny. It was painful. It was the beginning of an ending. I forced a smile. “At this rate, Roan’s going to need a second horse just to carry all this.” Roan shot me a look from where he adjusted the saddle. “They’ve already raided half the food stock. If I end up going hungry, I’m blaming you.”
