Ellen's POV I chugged down another shot of whiskey as I stared into the horizon. Tonight was not meant to go like this. I'm the one meant to be in Ragnar's arms, not her. The way she so effortlessly gets away from danger is unnerving. I sucked in a deep breath. The bodies of Marcus and Fred were long gone, replaced by the dreary sense of doom approaching. I shook my head. “That can't be right,” I muttered, kicking myself off the bed. I sauntered out of the break room and drove myself home.
