Chapter 11On the way to the lounge, Daniel told everyone he did not want to deal with the police. Sam nodded and suggested saying there had been an incident involving falling down a flight of stairs…repeatedly. The moment they entered the lounge, however, Sury quickly dispelled that idea. Standing with a security guard, she was now explaining Paulo’s misadventures of the evening.
Daniel sighed, watching an attendant wheel Paulo back to a private room. “If I press charges, he will never be gone,” said Daniel. “There will be police, and courts, and judges, maybe even media.” The introvert in him shivered at the idea of all that attention. “I just want him out of our lives,” he said, leaning his head onto Karden’s shoulder.
