Chapter 9Daniel and Karden hoisted the ends of a sopped roll of fabric, the bright colors smothered in the tarp they used to haul another ruined roll from the upper floor of the Wayward Gallery. Maddy and Frank followed with the last of the destroyed items. Luckily for Jazz and Maddy, this pipe—on the opposite end of the room from the one the plumber caught last week—was stationed above a large basket of material used as a backdrop for a show on clothing styles from African nations. Though the spools of fabric did not survive, they took the hit and absorbed much of the leak. Guilt gnawed at Daniel.
