Chapter 33: Coping

3427 Words

I cried all the way home, not believing I let myself get into this situation again. "Sarah? I thought you said you would be at the library a while." I heard my mum's voice from the living room. And I cried even more. "Mummy?" I called out, my voice choked with tears as I walked into the living room. My mum was sketching into her iPad but as soon as she heard me speak and saw me, she put it aside on the couch. "Sweetheart, oh my God. What's wrong?" She stood and met me halfway, engulfing me in a hug and making me sob even harder. "Mummy, I'm so stupid." I cried as she rubbed down my back comfortingly. "You're not, baby." She said, quietly shushing me. "I liked him so damn much mum. So much." My mum pulled away from the hug, taking my bag and keeping it aside. "Come on to the couch."
