The moment I see Selena heading towards her pack members who are speaking to Thorn, I call her attention.
“Selena?” I say and she faces me. In an unexpected turn, her countenance transforms dramatically as if a shadow has swept across her features. The color drains from her face, leaving behind a sudden pallor that starkly contrasts with her previous vitality, reflecting an internal shift.
It’s as if she is thinking the worst just after spotting Thorn speaking to her pack members. Could she be afraid that they would find out about how Thorn disregards the so-called bond? It must be. However, allowing her pack members to be aware of her position in the Moonsdale pack is not a blow that will end the bond.
The contract she submitted to the Cadence of government is the issue.
