Chapter Four **Dream State - 10 Years Earlier*** 'Mommy!' I cried out in pain, I had been trying to prove to my older brother that I wasn't a little baby, by trying to ride a two Wheeled bike, with out falling off. Needless to say, I didn't make it very far at all. I knew I couldn't do it, they knew i couldn't do it, but I still wanted to prove that i had the courage to try. Only, my attempts left me on the ground with a cut knee, trapped under my brother's big bike, crying. He laughed at me and ran off, leaving me in the street. 'MOMMY!!!' She probably couldn’t hear me, She was back in the house, unpacking. The tears kept falling from my eyes as I realised no one was coming for me, ‘Mommy, Daddy?!'  My last attempts were no better than my others for getting my parents attention.. Or so I thought. I suddenly heard running foot steps and assumed it was them, how ever when I looked up, It wasn’t my mum or dad, but a stranger.. He was very tall,. As he reached me, he knelt down and picked the bike up off me in one quick swooping motion and set it down on the ground next to me. 'Hey Little one, are you ok?' He asked in the sweetest voice. 'M-my brother left me' I cried. His face softened and he leaned forward and picked me up and setting me on to my feet before he took my hand and started walking back the way he had come. I looked behind us, at my brothers bike still in the road and smiled, Knowing my brother wouldn’t think to come and get it, meaning it was most likely going to get damaged or stolen.  As we approached a random house, I thought it was mine. It looked the same as our new house, but when the tall boy took me in side, it looked different.  He took me into the kitchen and picked me up, plonking me down on the side. 'So, your brothers just left you in the street?' He asked, walking over to a draw and pulling out a white box with a red cross on it. I nodded, still crying quietly. 'Aww..well, that's not very nice, is it?' I shook my head. He smiled as he set the box down on the side next to me. 'So...what's your name?' 'Emma!' I said happily, smiling wide at him. 'What's yours?' 'That's a nice name. I'm Benjamin, Call me Benny' He told me with a smile. 'Ooooo..like Benji Madden?!' I yelled excitedly. I loved Good Charlotte! He looked up at me with a raised eye brow, seeming shocked. 'And how do you know that?' He asked, sounding impressed, crossing his arms over his chest. 'I like Good Charlotte!' I told him. 'Do you like rock music?' I questioned. I asked a lot of questions. My mum always says I ask to many some times. 'Yeah, I like rock music. I can play the guitar. Can you play any thing?' he asked, opening the forgotten box and pulling out some wipes, Lifting my grazed leg. 'This might hurt a little, OK?' 'Ok. Nope, My mommy said I make to much noise already' He smiled again and carefully started to clean up my knee. I winced, but I didn't cry. 'Sorry' he apologised 'So, if you had to choose an instrument to play, what would you want to learn?' he asked, throwing the now slightly bloody wipe in the bin before grabbing plaster. 'Ummm.....DRUM!!' I squealed, He chuckled and put the plaster on my knee carefully. 'Well, my friend can play drums really well, maybe if you ask really nicely he might teach you some time. They come around practically every day.' My already wide smile grew. ‘YAYAYAYAY!!!!!’ I cheered and clapped my hands. 'Right, well, I think your knee is all better now. So..where do you live? I haven't seen you around the neighbourhood before?'  'Um...' It suddenly dawned on me, I actually didn't know where my house was. 'I-I don’t know’ I mumbled sadly, worrying. He hummm'ed and crossed his arms. 'Does you mommy have black hair that comes to about here?' He asked touching his shoulder. I nodded. 'And does you daddy have a small Beard?' I nodded quickly again. 'Right, I know where you've come from. I think I should take you home now, don't you?'  'Ohhhhhh.....I don't want to go' I pouted. If I went home, I’d have to see my brothers. He just laughed and turned around, bending slightly, ‘Hop on’ He offered me a piggy back! I excitedly climbed on and he walked back towards the front door. 'Don't worry, I'm sure we will see each other again'. 'YO Ben!?!' Some one yelled. We both turned around. There were 4 big boys coming towards us. They looked scary. One was a giant. And the others looked mean. I buried my face in Benny’s neck and shied away.  'Hey guys' He greeted them casually. The giant boy ran over and smiled at me. Making me feel even more nervous. My grip on Benny tightened 'Hello!' He smiled and waved at me. I looked away. 'You're frightening her Angel, Back off.' Benny told him. 'I'm not that bad' I looked back at him slowly, 'Sorry if I scared you. I'm Angel' He held out a hand to me. I just stared at it What was I supposed to do with that. 'O....k...' 'Guys this is my new neighbour Emma, Emma theses are my friends Matt, Kip, Zane and Angel.’ I looked around at them, Still unsure. ‘Angel's the one who plays drums' He whispered quietly, Instantly I became more comfortable with the Angel giant and smiled at him. All the guys awwwww'ed at me. 'Hi' I said happily, waving at them. The one called Kip walked over to me, he was short, really short, and by the looks of it younger than the others. 'So, where did you come from sweet heart?' He asked. I smiled at him. He was nice. 'She's my new neighbour's daughter. I found her in the road, She came off her bike and apparently her brothers just left her there. I'm just about to take her home now, you coming?' He asked his friends. They nodded and we walked down the garden path.  'So..where did you live before?' The other one...Zane, I think asked. 'Ummm....En-g-land' I struggled to say the word, but they all seemed to know what I said. 'England? He asked. I nodded quickly. 'How old are you?' 'This many years' I held up my hands, but tucking away my thumbs to say I was 8. ‘Wow, you are a big girl then.' I nodded quickly. 'Who old are you?' I asked them back.  'I'm 18, Matt and Benny are 23 and Angel's 22. Kip only 15.' All the boys laughed at him. ‘Oh..thats why you are so small!!!' I blurted out. They all laughed more. 'Thanks. I thought you were nice' Kip mumbled, but smiled after wards, letting me know he was just joking  We walked up my new garden path. Benny only lived next door!!  'Is your mommy and daddy home?' He asked. I nodded. He put me down and I ran into the house, the front door was already wide open. Mom was in the hall way. I ran right over to her and hugged her around the legs. She looked down at me. 'WOW, Emma, can't you see I'm carrying stuff. Be careful!' she yelled. I frowned and looked over at the guys as they Stood in the  front door way. I walked back over to Benny and he picked me up again. I was upset.  My mum turned around and saw the five strangers, one of which was holding me.  ‘Who are you?' she snapped rudely. 'Hi, I'm Benny, I live next door, these are my friends’ he said to her overly nicely. 'Oh right, hello' She said and walked up the stairs. Leaving us all stood there.  ‘Wow, your mums a right B-’ 'Matt' Kip whispered, elbowing him in the ribs. He looked at me and realised i was looking at him. Benny put me back down on the ground and bent down. 'Where is your daddy?' I shrugged my shoulders. He humm'ed and turned around to face his friends. 'Tell you what, why doesn't we go back to my house and Angel can start teaching you those drums now?' He suggested. My frown quickly turned into a smile. Angel stepped forward and took my hand.  'So, you wanna learn the drums, Do you?' I nodded quickly. 'Well, come on then' We walked back next door and my drum lessons began from there.  My parents didn't even notice I was gone. But I didn't care. I was having to much fun with the guys now...
