*** A few months later ***
Emma’s point of view
‘Get away from me! I mean it, Dennis!’. He kept coming closer. 'Leave me alone!' Grabbing my arm, he threw me into the wall. It’s gotten worse since we left home., It is getting more aggressive, more brutal and the marks are there for longer. I guess he isn’t worried about any of the guys seeing them and kicking his ass. He’s certainly been making up for the lost time.
'I told you to get up on time, and now because of you, I'm late to meet my friends!!' He screamed in my face. I curled up into a ball while he shouted his verbal abuse at me. I closed my eyes and went to my happy place.
My new happy place was the memories of the night before we left. The Date night. The best night of my life.
