Chapter Six
Kip’s Point of view
'NIGHT GUYS!' Emma yelled from the front door. I miss her already and she hasn’t already left yet.
'NIGHT!' We all yelled back. The door opened and closed a few seconds later. I slumped down in the chair and sighed. I suddenly wasn't in the mood to party any more. She was leaving. She was moving away and there was nothing I could do to stop her. My friends knew about my true feelings for her. Ever since she turned 15, I have been feeling something other than friendship towards her. At first, I thought it was wrong. I mean, I've known her since she was 8 years old. She was only 15! I was 22! I've been like a big brother to her for years and then suddenly I get all these feelings?
I'm sure over the past 10 years she's had a few little crushes on us, but unlike a crush, my feelings never went away. They stayed and stayed and at some point over the last 3 years that crush had turned in to love. I loved her more than any thing in the world. I wanted to protect her, look after her, spend the rest of my life with her. But I doubt she saw me more than just a loving older brother.
If it was out of any of us, it would probably be Benny or Matt that she would end updating. Even though they have reassured me on more than one occasion that they don't feel for her like that, I wasn’t 100% convinced she shared the same feeling towards them.
'Kip!' I suddenly jumped, hearing Matt yell my name. I looked up, Noticing all my friends were looking over at me. Benny was in the window, making sure Emma got home safely, she only lived next door, but one of us always watched to make sure she got back safe. 'I said are you ok man?'
'Yeah, sure, why wouldn't I be?' I threw them a smile, but I couldnt even convince myself I was ok with this, I definitely couldnt convince them.
'She wont be gone forever dude' Angel told me. I just shrugged
'As I said, I’m fine'
'You should tell her before it is too late' Benny told me, walking back to the sofa and sitting down with Matt. I sighed. Why do they feel the need to play cupid in my love life?
'And how do you suppose I tell her?' I asked. It came out like I was having a go, but really, I needed an idea. This was a big deal, I couldn’t just blurt it out.
'Oh Kip, you might be a guy, but you’re stupid. Do it the old fashioned way. Asked her out on a date' Zane joked. I sat and thought for a moment. That was actually a good idea. Simple.
Angel's phone started to ring, filling the quietness that seemed to have taken over. He pulled it out of his pocket and smiled. He put it to his ear and answered it.
'Hey Jenna' He said happily. We all looked at each other. 'No, It's fine, I was gonna call you soon any way. Yeah, defiantly, Listen, would you like to get dinner some time with me? Tomorrow? Great, yeah, see you there, bye' He hung up the phone. 'And that Mr Jones is how it's done.'
'Who was that?' Matt asked, only asking what we were all thinking. Angel looked at every one.
'Duh, Jenna' he said like it was obvious. I had no idea who Jenna was. Seeing our still confused expressions, he laughed. 'The waitress from the bar. We swapped numbers and I just asked her out!' He said happily.
'Well, good for you A' Matt smiled at him. He returned it, grinning like a kid at Christmas. I sighed and leaned back, closing my eyes.
I must have drifted off to sleep because the next thing I knew, the guys are putting their jackets on yelling at me to get up. I looked at the clock it was only 3.00 am What the f**k?
'Come on, We got to go, while you were playing sleeping beauty, we were coming up with a plan, so move it!' Benny ordered. I sat up and caught my jacket as it came flying at my head.
'Thanks Angel' he smiled and zipped his jacket. I stood up and put mine on before we all left the house. 'Where are we actually going?'
'You’ll see'. I just stayed quiet followed my friends out of the house...
