Chapter Six

2226 Words
"Dad!!!!" With tears in her eyes, Abby screamed in the direction of the man who was, in fact, her father, the man she thought to be dead. New emotions were coming onto her, he looked for a few seconds confused. She removed the wig and as soon as she did, a loud gasp can be heard as he ran towards her wrapping her in a tight embrace, Dimitri and Nina stood beside Abby shocked. "Is it really you? My little girl? Abbigail?" By this point, Michael had tears in his eyes as well, years had passed of not knowing if his little girl was safe and finally there she was, in front of him almost twenty. Six years Abby thought she had lost her father, but here he was in the flesh, alive and well, she wrapped her arms around him and they all went out for lunch. As they ate Abby introduced Nina and DiDi to her father and told him all about the six years, what she went through, and about William, how he protected her. "So, your Mom really has changed her look up, no wonder we couldn't find her." He took a sip of soda from the cup and looked at the three of them. "Dad, I need you to do me a favor." Abby took out the note from the other day and asked the waiter for a pen, she wrote on the paper and handed it to her father to read aloud. Maris, I am safe I promise. I wish not to reveal my location just yet for the fear of putting you and myself back in danger, the top half of this is proof that William was indeed forced to take part in everything. Please use it well, William and I have something to come clean about when we finally meet again, father has kept it secret for so long hoping to keep us safe. I love you, sissy. Always, Abby Her father looked up immediately after reading and placed the letter down with a deep sigh, "So you know? For how long?" Abby looked away and wrapped her hands around her cup, she wanted to tell him but was honestly scared about how he would react. "The first three months I was with them, Willy and I were alone and he blurted it out so I wanna say about three years. Why didn't you tell us? Why would you let her do all of that? Did you really have no idea?" Her father stayed extremely quiet for a short while before placing his hands over his face and rubbing it. "I had some idea but, I didn't wanna believe it Abby, and when I found out I freaked and stayed quiet. I didn't want you girls to know or get hurt, but it failed, and your Mother made off with all of our savings and you. Your sister never gave up on trying to find you, I am ashamed to say that I did, I thought you were gone and I gave up hope." She was shocked, hearing her father say he gave up on her hurt, at least her sister didn't. "Wow, just wow dad, why? Why did you give up? I was alive! You should've known Ava wouldn't kill me, it's why Thomas, no matter how much he beat me, would always stop before it got too bad." Michael looked down in shame knowing full well what he did was wrong, "But I miss you and Maris, I miss grandma and grandpa. How are they now?" He looked back up with a slight smile on his face and spoke. "Well, sadly grandpa died and Grandma remarried to a Max Anderson who passed away a month ago and she published a romance book, she's working on a second one at this very moment I am actually here to meet up with a woman I met on this dating site, she's absolutely gorgeous and oddly enough, she sounds a little bit like your mother-" Abby slammed her hand on the table causing Dimitri to grab it and Nina to put her arm around Abby. "Stop calling her my mother!!!! That monster of a human being will never be fit to be my mother!!" Abby squeezed Dimitri's hand and calmed herself down. "I'm so sorry Abby, I should've known better." Abigail smiled and shook her head while holding onto Dimitri's hand. "No, no dad, it's ok. I promise, I just after everything that has happened and everything she has put me through I really don't want her to be known as my mother." After a while of talking, Michael looked down at his watch and stood up. "I'm sorry sweetie, I've gotta go, I have someone waiting for me at my apartment. Do you have any way for me to get ahold of you?" Abby whispered to DiDi and Nina before looking at her father, Nina pulls out her phone and texts Auntie Rosa. "Nina's going to give you Auntie Rosa's number, she's expecting your call as am I. I love you, dad! Tell Maris-" Just then Abby gasped and hid under the table. Across the street was a man with hair as red as fire, Thomas was on the lookout for Abby. Nina bent down quickly and helped her put the wig on, as she got up she whispered to her father. "Leave! Go! He's here!" Her father embraced her once more before walking off as fast as he could. The black car pulled up and the men opened the doors, Abby put on a pair of sunglasses that Nina had handed her before they let, just as Abby was about to get into the car she felt a tight grip on her wrist and when she turned around she saw him. Thomas had her by the wrist and all she could do was stand there, eyes widened but she was stopped by fear, fear that was crossing all through her body making her want to scream, making her want to run or fight but she couldn't, it was almost as if she was paralyzed. Dimitri and Nina walked beside her along with the two men who were driving. "I'm sorry, but can you remove your hand from my girlfriend?" Dimitri grabbed Abby's hand gripping it tightly, he turned to get into the car but was stopped, Thomas still hadn't released her wrist but in fact, was now hurting her a little too much. "She looks familiar, what's her name?" As Thomas walked forward Zane and Nina placed Abby behind them basically hiding her. "Her name is non your f*****g business dude, now kindly f**k off and leave us alone!" Nina was starting to get pissed, this was supposed to be a bonding day for the three of them. "Yes, please step away from the mister and misses and scram." One of the men grabbed Thomas's shirt causing him to release Abby and pushed the three of them away as he stepped in front of them. They got into the car as the man punched Thomas causing him to land outright on his ass, he got back into the driver's seat and drove off. "Uh, girlfriend?" Both Nina and Abby said as they looked at Dimitri who was, at this point, looking confused. "What? I said it to help, what would you have done?" He growled at Nina looking out the window, "I could've just let you girls handle it yourselves thank you." The driver smiled as he put the privacy window up. "Thank you, Dimie, I owe you one." Abby lent over and pinched his cheek lightly which made him raise an eyebrow, no one other than Auntie Rosa did that, and the nickname? He was defiantly never called 'Dimie', but for some odd reason, he let it slide and popped a smile laying his head back. "Ok back to the salon, but we'll have to go in and out through the back of the shop. I'll message Mich and tell him to meet us outside." Nina smiled as she did so and they went back to the salon where a light blue-haired male with beautiful makeup waited at the back door. "Is this her? She's- ugh, bring her in, I have my work cut out for me this time." Mich rolled his eyes as Abby followed behind him, "Sit down baby girl, don't worry I don't bite I swear." Abby smiled softly and sat down in the chair taking off her wig which made Mich gasp. "Ah! What have you done to your hair girl?!" He fluffed out her hair which was all frizzy and overgrown, he shook his head in disbelief. "I'm sorry, she didn't let me take shower that much because she was worried that I would escape through the window as my sister had. I was only able to when I was William, and I was never really allowed to go out, Willy did the best he could though." What she had said left Mich silent and speechless, he placed an apron over her and wheeled her over to the sink to wash her hair, after washing he grabbed his scissors and comb. "What were we thinking hun?" She looked at herself in the mirror and stayed quest before speaking up in a soft-toned voice. "Can you surprise me? Your hair is so beautiful, I have no idea what haircuts people like nowadays." He studied her face, eyes, and shape, he soon smiled and snapped his finger making Abby flinch a little. "I'm sorry hun, but how about a lavender lob with bangs?" Nina smiled and looked at Abby nodding, Abby nodded and he got to work. "Wow! I love it!" She smiled and hugged Mich as he hugged back Nina pulled her and Dimitri away, once back in the car DiDi pulled out the list that he got from Auntie Rosa checking off haircut, lunch, and makeup. "Ok, now to get you new clothes. And this place also carries phones so that's the last two on the list since Mich already said he'll have Abby's makeup type sent to the house. Oh, this is gonna be so much fun." Dimitri stated in a very sarcastic tone, Nina squealed and smiled as Abby tickled her. All he could do was shake his head and laugh, Abby's hazel eyes sparkled in the sun as it passed by the window, while he watched them Dimitri's mind started wondering. He thought to himself, "I wanna ask her out tomorrow, but I don't know if it is too early. I mean she did just go through hell and we haven't known each other for nearly a day, I wonder who that William dude is to her, he wasn't her boyfriend was he?" DiDi felt a hand on his shoulder, he looked at Nina pointing over to Abby who was now fast asleep. "We are almost there wanna wake her up?" Dimitri shook Abby lightly and she woke up. They got out walking to the shop, immediately Nina picked out a beautiful green sparkly dress and Abby caught a glimpse of a black lace shirt with blue jeans. DiDi handed her a leather jacket smiling, she looked at him a bit confused, Abby had never really worn leather before but she thought it was time for a change. "So?! Come out!!" Nina wiggled and smiled waiting to see Abby in the dress she picked out for her. As soon as she stepped out Nina gasped and hugged her, Dimitri just stared at her so she waved her hand in front of his eyes. "Dimie? What? Does it look bad or something?" Nina smacked the back of his head making him snap out of it, he looked her up and down smiling. "No, actually it looks amazing on you. Auntie Rosa's gonna love it, I'll be back in a few minutes." Abby looked off to the side and asked Nina to help her take it off and Dimitri went off. After they bought a few more outfits along with the needs, they got Abby her very own phone and got both of their numbers plus Auntie Rosa who she had called once in the car and her phone was set up. "We're on our way home, Auntie Rosa! Wait till you see the dress Nina picked out for me!" She laughed and hung up, they picked out a few songs and had a full-on party in the backseat, and by the time they got home, Abby was exhausted so she took a shower and put on the PJs she had gotten earlier. Before she laid down for bed Dimitri knocked on her door holding a bag. "Hey, Abby? You have a minute? I got this for when you have one of your nightmares, it's a comfort animal." He pulled out a large stuffed panda bear, as soon as he did Abby's eyes lit up. "That's my sister and I's favorite animal, how'd you know?" He smiled and shrugged embracing her in a hug, she had just taken a shower so she smelled like coconut. She hugged him back and he went off to his room, Abby wrapped her arms around the panda bear and laid her head on the soft pillow, she giggled before slowly drifting off into dreamland.
