Lil's POV ‘I got a pocket, got a pocket full of sunshine, I got a love, and it's all mine. Oh oooh wow. Take me away! Take me.’ [(Pocketful of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield)] “Ugh.” I was not ready to wake up but still opened my eyes and turned my alarm off. Once awake, I sat up on my bed and got ready to go see Jazz. I got up and went to my closet to grab my swimsuits and other items I would need, and put it all in a bag to take with me. I then grabbed my light blue top that she got me for my 21st birthday that said, ‘I may be crazy, but you still love me.’ I paired it with a pair of blue jean shorts and some sandals that matched my top. Then I went to the bathroom to put my hair up in a ponytail, so I wouldn’t have to worry about it while swimming. After doing my hair and brushing my teeth, I left the bathroom, grabbed my purse and bag, then walked over to my nightstand to grab my phone and charger and put it in my purse. I noticed that Jazz sent me the link to the house, and I hit the link to get the directions. Once loaded, it showed it would take me about 75 mins to get there, which is a good distance. I sent a message to Jazz... >>Hey girl, I will be leaving shortly, but the address is 75 mins away. You better love me, girl, since it is a good distance for me.>Oh wow, I didn’t realize it was that far from you. Sorry girl, I didn't realize. You could always spend the night that way. You won't have to drive far at night.>You sure they wouldn’t mind me being at their house for so long?>I asked, and they said that you were more than welcome over at the house. Remember to bring your swimsuit and some comfortable clothes. >Okay, let me grab some clothes to pack, and I will let my roommates know I will not be home tonight.>Oh, bring some tennis shoes as well. Love you girl. I will see you soon. I can’t wait to see you.<< I put my phone in my back pocket and set my purse and bag on my bed. Then I turned around to grab 2 pairs of jean shorts, 2 shirts, one red and one purple, and a set of PJs (tank top and shorts). I put all of those in the bag. I then grabbed 2 pairs of socks and a pair of black tennis shoes to put in the bag as well. Now that I was ready, I grabbed my purse and now a full duffle bag and headed downstairs with key in hand, ready to go. I heard some noise coming from the kitchen, so I walked in there to find Amber and the guys drinking coffee. “Good morning, guys.” “Morning”, Amber said with a smile. “Hey”, Drake said, still in his morning workout clothes. Matt just waved with his head on the table. “What happened to you?” I asked Matt, worried. “I joined Drake for his morning workout…. I hurt.” I looked at Drake with a raised eyebrow, and he just smirked, “He will be fine. His body just isn’t used to the workouts I do on Cardio day, that's all.” “Oh s**t!” Amber and I said in unison. Amber set her cup down, “Matt, do you have a death wish?” “NO!” I grabbed a cold Coca-Cola from the fridge. “I joined one time on cardio day and never did it again. I was hurting for 2 days.” “Good morning, everyone,” Chelsea said, walking in with a Chick-fil-a bags and drinks. “Oh, Lil, I got you a little something this morning to say thank you.” She said, holding up a big cup and bag to me. I set my can down and grabbed the bag and cup. I opened the bag to find 2 four-count minis. I turned around to face Chelsea, who was handing the other bag she had to Amber and the guys who were pulling food out of the bag. “Thank you, Chelsea, how did you know my order?” “I asked Amber if there was a breakfast you really liked, and she said that Chick-fil-a was your favorite. Also, the drink is your favorite soda. It's Coke, right?” I was really shocked. “Yes, that is right. You actually got me my favorite order, which is 2 minis and a large Coke. Thank you.” I set the meal down and put the can back in the fridge. “I told Amber what your order was since she didn't know it,” Matt said before taking a bite of the Chick-fil-a chicken biscuit. “Oh, cool, thanks. Now I will have something to eat on the drive.” “Yeah, I just noticed the bag. Are you going somewhere?” Drake asked. “Yes, Jazz is in town, and I am going to go hang out with her. I won’t be back home till tomorrow. I will have my cell phone if you need me for something.” “Okay” “Have fun” “Tell Jazz I said hello and that I miss her,” Amber said. “Okay I will. Bye everyone and thank you again Chelsea.” I waved bye to everyone and headed for the front door. I unlocked my car and put the cup in the cupholder and the food on the passenger seat along with my purse and my bag on the floor. I walked around and got in the driver's seat and turned the car on. I hooked my phone up to my car and picked a Spotify playlist of mine and pulled up the directions. The directions came through the speaker, and I backed out of the driveway and started the long journey to the address. After driving for about 55 minutes, my directions told me to turn left and now, I was looking at a huge gate. I pulled up to the gate and a guy from a booth came over to my window. Rolling down my window, “Can I help you ma’am?” The guard asked me. “Um yes, I am here to see a friend of mine, Jasmine Young. She said to tell you I am here to see the Blackwell family. She is staying at their place,” I told him. “Okay, let me check something real fast.” He turned around and headed back to the booth. This guard really freaked me out. He was super tall and very built. I parked my car while waiting for him to return from the booth. After a few minutes, he came back over to me. “Your name is Lillian?” he asked. “Yes, sir, I am Lillian.” “Okay, you are clear. Head down the road till the fork. At the fork, go down the road on the left, you will follow that down till another fork, and you will turn left again. After that, you go down the street till you get to a tan house with white windows and red rose bushes out front. Got it?” “Yes sir. Two forks go left on both and go down the street till I see the tan house with white windows and red rose bushes.” I repeated back to him. “Smart girl”. He smiled at me. He pulled a remote out of his pocket and hit a button which made the gate start to open. “Head on in cutie”, he said to me with a wink. I know my cheeks turned pink from that. I ignored it and drove through the gate. After getting through the gate, I rolled my window back up and continued on the journey to the house. I made sure to follow all the instructions the guard had given me, while also looking around at the houses lining the streets. “Dang. I get why they have a gate. These people have money….a lot of money.” After making the way to the second fork, I looked down the road on the right and saw a huge hotel-looking building. 'Why is there a hotel in the neighborhood?' Shaking that thought away, I made the last left turn right as my phone began to buzz. I answered it using my Bluetooth. “Hello” 'Hey girl, are you here yet?' "Yeah, I just pulled up, I think? Do I park in the street or somewhere else?” the call went silent. “Hello Jazz? You there” still no response. Just then, rapid knocking started on my window, making me jump. Looking out the window, I saw it was Jazz jumping up and down. I hung up the phone, turned the car off and got out of the car. “I am so happy to see you girl,” Jazz said and gave me a huge hug. If my car had not been behind me, I am sure I would have fallen. “Hey, it has been too long Jazz.” “I know school kept me so busy. Oh my gosh! You wore the shirt I got you.” “And you’re wearing yours. We match.” I laughed. “So, is parking here in the street okay or do I need to move?” “Oh, there’s room in the driveway.” “Oh, okay, let me move the car then,” I said, getting back in the car to move it. Jazz got in the back row of the car and showed me where to park in the driveway. “So just park next to the red car.” “You mean the red Mustang?” We both laughed while parking the car. “How do you know these people anyway?” I asked. “They are friends with my parents. This is their kid’s house, and they were fine with me crashing here while in town.” “Wait back up.” I turned around to face her in the back row. “This is a house full of kids?” Jazz laughed super hard. “No, they are adults and are older than us.” Jazz opened the door, “Come on, let’s get inside.” I got out of the car and walked around to the passenger side to grab my bags. “Hey here, help with my bags,” I said, tossing my duffle bag to Jazz. “Okay” Jazz said, shaking her head at me. I grabbed my purse and trash and headed over to the porch where Jazz was now waiting for me. “You ate already?” Jazz said sadly. “It was a gift, and I was starving. I can still eat some more though.” “Oh, good because their chef made a lot of food.” We walked through the patio door into the house. We were in the living room, and it looked very fancy but still modern. “We can put your bags over here for now so we can eat something first,” Jazz told me, walking through a door to our right. Once we walked through, I noticed to the right was a little table in what looked like a reading nook but a little bigger. Jazz set my bag on one of the chairs, so I put my purse on top of it. “Lil, this is their chef, Ms. Willis,” Jazz said behind me. I turned around to see that we were in a huge kitchen and Jazz was motioning to the lady who was cooking on the stove. “Hello Miss. You can call me Ms. Sally if you want. Ms. Willis sounds too formal,” she said, walking over to me, holding out her hand for me to shake. “Hello, it’s nice to meet you,” I said, shaking her hand. "Jasmine just called you her childhood friend. I never got your name.” She said, glaring at Jazz for not being polite. “Sorry” Jazz replied. “My name is Lillian, but most people just call me Lil,” I told Ms. Sally with a smile. “Well, hope you are hungry. I cooked a lot of food. I made a little of everything.” “I am very hungry. I bet your cooking is top-notch.” “Well, aren’t you sweet? Jasmine, you need to bring her around more often. I love someone who is polite and sweet.” Jasmine and I both laughed. “Well, I can only come hang out with her a little bit since I work a lot, and she is away at school too,” I replied. “Jasmine, what are you doing?” She shouted, “Get out of the fridge.” “Calm down, I am just getting my juice out to pour Lil a cup,” Jazz replied, holding a pitcher to show Ms. Sally and me. “You need to slow down with that stuff,” Ms. Sally said in a motherly tone. “I am going to guess that your ‘Juice’ has booze in it.” I said, doing air quotes around the juice. “You know it.” Jazz winked at me. Ms. Sally was shaking her head, not pleased. “I will keep an eye on her, Ms. Sally, but Jazz, I don’t want to drink while having breakfast, so just a soda will do.” “Fine.” Jazz put the pitcher back in the fridge. “Here” she said, handing me a Coke from the fridge. “You two can go join the others. They are eating breakfast as well.” “Wait their awake and still here?” Jazz asked, shocked and a little nervous. “Yes, and the neighbors are over here as well.” “Wait, so I have to meet a bunch of people right now?” I asked Jazz nervously. I was not ready to meet a lot of people. “Well, guess so,” Jazz told me. “Great.” I was not thrilled. “It will be fine girl.” “We can hear your conversation from here.” Came a deep voice. “They are in the dining room through that door,” Ms. Sally told me, pointing to a door. “Jazz, if you still want us to be fine with your friend staying here, please come in here with her so we can meet the person who is going to be staying in our house.” Came the voice again. “Okay! Okay!” Jazz yelled back. “Come meet the two neighbors and the four guys who live here.” She said to me, motioning to the dining room door.
