Chapter Eight Kayla glanced over at Brant, who was watching her and Veridian from across the room. Although he had stubbornly refused to let her leave her family’s quarters, he’d finally relented and allowed Veridian to visit. In light of Elyot’s betrayal, Brant was reticent to allow anyone else near her without Alec’s permission.
