CH. 11- A Farmhouse

1289 Words
Big C brought me along with his hunting trip. What are we hunting? Chupacabras, the famous monsters in Mexico. The two of us have arrived at our destination after three hours of driving. It was quite a long trip from the campus. I was sleeping during the car ride. The reason, I got bored and annoyed by Big C's antics. So I pretended to sleep, which did lead me to fall asleep. I knew that the trip took three hours as I looked at my phone's time upon I felt the car stop. I wiped my dripping saliva and rubbed my eyes when my vision became clear after wiping my eyes with my fingers. I immediately looked at the right side and noticed the large cornfield just a few steps near the car. Then I looked at the left side and saw a house—a modest farmhouse, to be exact. There's even a tractor parked next to the house, along with a pickup truck. I focused my gaze at the modest house painted white and blue. I saw Big C talking to an old couple. “Those must be the owners of this farm.” Big C suddenly looked over his shoulder with a smile. I wouldn't say I like the smirk he had on his face; then he turned around in my direction. He then pointed his hand at me and made a gesture to come towards him. I got out of the car and carried my sword with me when I reached the three. Big C instantly spoke, “this is my son.” “Heh!” “I thought your son would be as handsome as you.” The grandma spoke as she looks at me. “Is it only you and your son?” The man around his sixties spoke. “Yes, sir, there's only two of us. So would you allow us to stay here for the night? Our car has broken down, which makes traveling for the night dangerous.” The old man was not buying Big C's words. However, the old woman, which I think is the old man's wife, believes Big C's lie. “Dear, why don't you just let them stay. It's only going to be for a night. This house is starting to get boring, with you and only our grandaughter staying here.” “But honey…” “You should stop being too grumpy with strangers. This the reason why we have few visitors.” After scolding her husband, the kind grandma then stared at me with a smile. “Young, I'm sorry for my husband's rudeness. You and your father can stay here for the night.” The woman has a sweet, caring voice. She's like the grandma that will always bring you, sweets every time she visits you. I feel somewhat comfortable with her, his husband, on the other hand. Marcus and the grandpa locked gazes. Marcus felt a ferocious animal that would want to kill him. It was not a comfortable situation for Marcus. “You scared of him, Marcus?” The sword spoke. “No…” “Marcus, you should not be scared of this old man. It's a common instinct for the only man in the family to be hostile towards strangers. Especially when his granddaughter is a maiden, then two men showing up out of nowhere asking to sleep in his territory for the night.” “Well, if your husband doesn't want us here, madame. Then we are going to leave. Thank you for your time.” Big C immediately walks back to his car after saying that to the old couple. Marcus immediately followed Big C. However, before the two of them could reach the car. The man suddenly yelled, “WAIT!” Both Marcus and Big C stopped; they then turned around and faced the couple. And saw the man walking towards them as the man reached two. The man immediately spoke, “Hey, you two, I think you can stay here.” “Thank you very much!” Big C then started tearing up, like it was the tears of joy. Marcus doesn't know how to feel about it. Should he be creeped out or act along with Big C? Big C even tried to hit the man, but the man stopped him and spoke. “Woah! Hope your horses! Look, I'm not too fond of hugs, but what I like. Is good old booze.” “Then that's ok, sir! I have Twenty-four cans of beer in my car's trunk. I was saving it for a special occasion. But as thanks for letting us stay here, you can have it.” Wait, he was carrying beer! Good thing our car wasn't stopped on our way here by the police. It would look bad in my record if I got involved with a drunk driver. I hope this guy has no more surprises. “If that's the case, mister..?” “Mister Clint, madame.” “Then, mister Clint, since you're allowed by my husband to enter our humble house. I will be preparing dinner. Also, my name Amy and this is my husband, Charles.” Big C, or should I call dad now, has entered the farmhouse. It was a very modest house, and the pieces of furniture had some age but were all well maintained. But I find some new things in these old couple's home, like their 4K flat widescreen smart television and surround sound system. Well, this couple is not outdated when it comes to their entertainment. But as I scanned the entire house, I glanced near the stairs. I noticed a girl looking at us. I think the two of us met eyes, but I guess that's the granddaughter of this old couple. But it seems that Charles noticed her, so he shouted kindly. “Lucilia! Come down here, honey, and greet our guests.” The girl slowly walked down the stairs after being called by her grandpa. She was a timid girl as she greets nervously. “Uh… I'm- I'm Lucilia, sixteen, nice to meet you two.” She has long black hair that reaches her waist—tied with a ponytail style. She also has these frickles on her face, which contemplated her very light brown skin. She's also somewhat taller than me, while her clothes were the typical countryside girl. She wore jeans and a regular long sleeve green T-shirt and boots. “Nice to meet you, Lucilia; I'm Clint. And this is my son, Marcus. I hope you get along with him while we stay at your home.” “Marcus, why don't you greet her.” “Do…” Before I could finish my sentence, Clint stepped on my foot. “Ou... I mean, I'm Marcus. Nice to meet you, Lucilia.” Lucilia immediately looked down and avoided eye contact with me as she replied to my greeting. “Nice to meet you, Marcus.” I'm quite confused by this, even though I don't socialize that much. I find it rude not to look at someone's eyes when talking to them. However, when I looked at Lucilia closely, she seems quite red. Don't tell me she's embarrassed at us? Well, I can not blame her since my father now is a hottie that every teenage girl dreams. So being close to such a man is embarrassing for her. I am very jealous of my fake father right now; he can make girls like him without doing anything. “Lucilia, why don't you go grab some eggs in the barn. I'm going to use some for cooking dinner.” Lucilia's grandma spoke. “Marcus, go help, Lucilia.” “Eh!” “Mister Clint, there is no need for that.” “I insist it, madame. He's been doing nothing lately. So having him do some chores might be better.” After that, I followed Lucilia to their barn to gather some eggs. But I felt something was wrong with this farm as I saw their pig den filled with blood. And only three pigs left.
