But Cameroon remained quiet, his eyes on her. He didn't understand why she just changed all of a sudden.
“Tell me!“ she screamed more louder.

RD'S INDUSTRIES
“Tell me.. are you hiding something from me?“ Victoria asked trailing her fingers down Reed's jaw.
He shoved her fingers away making her sit back on the chair across him.
“Victoria, my condolences to you or whatever you're thinking.. but that's all for now” he muttered standing from his chair about to walk out of his office but then Victoria held him back.
“Reed, we need to talk “ She said her voice barely above a whisper and he turned slightly.
“About what exactly?“ He frowned. Victoria had been in his office for the past three hours he arrived and all she kept saying was if he was not remarrying.
“You know Reed, you need a wife and your kids need a mother too. Someone who could make them feel safe.... som..“
“Enough! I don't need a wife. And besides I have no time searching for one “ Reed said before walking out of his office leaving Victoria there and she knew he wouldn't return till she left.
SUIZE'S OFFICE 🦋
Suize was arranging some files on her table when she suddenly stopped, her eyes scanning around the office.
The office was a small, tidy room with a desk, chair, and bookshelf. The walls were a light gray color, and the room was filled with natural light from a large window.
She sighed heavily, feeling a sense of restlessness wash over her.
Picking up the files, she stood up and headed towards Mr. Reed's office. As she approached the door, she hesitated, her hand hovering over the doorknob. She knocked softly, but didn't receive any response.
Assuming Mr. Reed was busy or not in his office, Suize turned the handle and entered. But she was shocked to see Victoria sitting elegantly on the couch, a smug look on her face.
Suize's eyes scanned the room, searching for Mr. Reed, but he was nowhere to be found. She turned to leave, but Victoria's voice interrupted her.
"If you don't want to face my wrath... stay away from Reed," Victoria sneered, her eyes flashing with anger. "You don't even have a chance with him."
Suize shivered, feeling a chill run down her spine. She nodded her head, trying to appear calm, and quickly walked out of the office, leaving Victoria's gaze behind her.

LANGLIN'S MANSION
Jennifer was serving Mr. Langlin breakfast on the dining table when he suddenly reached out and grasped her hand. She gasped, spinning around to see if anyone was watching.
"Please stop before your wife comes out for breakfast," she whispered, trying to pull her hand from his grip.
Mr. Langlin raised an eyebrow, a sly smile spreading across his face. "But you know who my real wife is," he said, his voice low and husky.
Jennifer's face flushed with embarrassment. "I know, but we can't be seen... you're already married to her, and I'm just a house servant," she uttered sadly.
Mr. Langlin's expression turned serious. "No, you're not just any servant, Jennifer. You're the mother of my child, and that's the best part of it."
Jennifer's eyes darted nervously around the room. "But what if she finds out?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"What if she finds out that Jasmine is..." Jennifer started to say, but her words were cut off by a feminine voice.
"Jasmine is what?" Mrs. Langlin asked, her voice icy cold.
Jennifer's heart sank. She knew she had been caught. She turned swiftly, lowering her head in shame while praying Mrs. Langlin didn't hear the rest of the conversation.
"Hun, come sit for breakfast," Mr. Langlin said, trying to sound nonchalant, but Jennifer knew he was trying to deflect attention.
Mrs. Langlin walked over to him, her eyes blazing with anger. She slapped him hard across the face. "How dare you interrupt me?" she spat.
Mr. Langlin stared blankly at her, his face stinging from the slap. This wasn't the first time his wife had slapped him, but it still hurt.
"Get out!" Mrs. Langlin screamed, turning her face to Jennifer, who quickly scurried back to the kitchen, trying to escape the drama unfolding before her eyes.
"Nonsense!" Mrs. Langlin muttered, storming back upstairs, leaving Jennifer and Mr. Langlin in an uncomfortable silence.
Jennifer let out a sigh of relief as she entered the kitchen. She couldn't believe what had just happened. She knew she had to be more careful, or else she would lose everything.

BENISON'S CARE CENTER
“He's awake and you can go in now” A nurse announced to Alice who sat on the waiting chair with a brown large envelope on her lap.
“Okay thanks” she muttered standing up and walked inside the ward.
The room was dimly lit, the only sound the steady beeping of the machines surrounding the hospital bed. A man lay motionless with his eyes opened, his chest rising and falling with each gentle breath. Oxygen tubes were inserted into his nostrils, and wires monitored his vital signs.
“Hey” Alice smiled and sat close to him but he didn't even look at her.
“Why are you still here?“ He asked and Alice looked taken aback but she forced a smile.
“I'm here because Maddie stabbed you... And you needed care”
“Is that all?“ He asked turning to her and she nodded slowly.
“But there's one thing left” she said in a serious tune bringing out a white paper from the big brown envelope.
“I need you to sign this” Alice sighed giving him the paper and he glanced at it his eyes widening in shock.
“A divorce? Why?“ He asked and Alice shrugged.
“I don't see why we're still together. So I filed for a divorce”
“Without my permission?“ He asked. His voice low and calm.
“Yeah.. you need to sign it now”
“Well, I won't!“ He said and Alice eyes widened in shock.
“Why not?“ She asked but he didn't give her a answer instead he tore the paper and threw them up in the air.
“You're still my wife!“
Alice's face twisted in anger. "How dare you," she spat. "You've been gone for years, and now you're just going to waltz back in here and expect everything to go back to normal?"
The man's expression didn't change. "I'm not expecting anything," he said. "But I'm not going to let you divorce me without a fight."
Alice scoffed. "You're not even making sense," she said. "You been away for years. You don't even know what's been going on in my life."
"I know more than you think," he said.
Alice raised an eyebrow. "Oh? And what exactly do you know?" she asked.
The man's gaze didn't waver. "I know that you still need me" he said. "And I know that you want to divorce me for a reason ."
Alice's face went pale, and she took a step back. "What are you talking about?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
But the man just smiled. "I'll find out," he said. "And when I do, you'll be sorry you ever tried to deceive me."
Alice's eyes narrowed, and she turned to leave. "I'll be back," she said. "And next time, you won't be so lucky." And with that she left.

OUTSIDE BENISON'S CARE CENTER
Alice walked out of the hospital, anger burning in her heart. "How dare he," she muttered to herself, replaying the argument with her husband.
Alice's heels clicked on the sidewalk, and she felt a sense of relief wash over her. She was finally alone, away from the drama.
But her peace was short-lived. Her mind started to wander, thinking about her husband's words. "I'm not yours forever," she said out loud, defending herself.
She turned a corner, scanning the environment and sighed heavily.
Suddenly, she heard a loud screeching sound. "What the...?" she started to say, her heart racing.
She looked up to see a car speeding around the corner, heading straight for her...

CLIFFORD HIGH
“ Geez, girl... What was that for?“ Avery asked Maddie as they walked to class but Maddie sighed deeply without answering her.
“ It's ok if you don't want to say anything.. but girl you were rude”
“He was rude. Imagine him walking out of me.. like I was a fool” Maddie blurted before walking into the class while Avery stood in her track.
“I guess you're really a fool” she smirked and just then her phone buzzed in her school bag and she sighed deeply before bringing her phone out.
“Hey why are you calling at this ungodly hour?“ She said her voice barely above a whisper.
“Ma'am.. there's..a b..ad news” A man voice sounded from the other end and her brow furrowed.
“What is it?“ She asked confused.
“It's about our target... He survived”
“What?“ Avery screamed and quickly covered her mouth.
“How? Where's he now?“ She asked.
And there was a pause at the other end before someone finally spoke.
“He got help.. from a nurse who took him to the most secured hospital in Japan. Reed's private hospital”
The last three words sent shivers down Avery's spine but she quickly regained her posture “ Do anything to get rid of him.. anything. I'll double your pay” she muttered and then the line went dead.
Behind a closed door someone stood looking at Avery confused. The person nodded thoughtfully trying to figure out who she wanted to get rid of.

REED'S PRIVATE HOSPITAL
A man lay motionless on the hospital bed, his eyes closed, and his chest rising and falling with each gentle breath. Oxygen tubes were inserted into his nostrils, and wires monitored his vital signs, beeping softly in the silence. The room was dimly lit, with only a few rays of sunlight peeking through the blinds, casting a warm glow on the sterile environment.
Suddenly, his eyes flickered open, and he gasped, jerking up and down as if he was having a nightmare. "Where...am I?" he muttered, looking around the strange room in confusion.
Just then, two nurses and a female doctor rushed into the room, their faces filled with concern. "Sir, you'll be okay. You're safe," one of the nurses said, trying to calm him down.
But the man continued to jerk up and down, his eyes darting wildly around the room.
"Where...my phone...the CCTV footage...where?" he muttered, his voice laced with desperation.
The nurses exchanged a confused glance. "Sir, please try to calm down," the doctor said, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder.
But the man shook her off, his eyes fixed on something in the distance. "I need to see it," he muttered. "I need to know what happened."
The doctor nodded to one of the nurses, who quickly checked the man's pulse. "He's stable," she replied.
But before the man could say any more words, the other nurse injected a fluid into his drip, and he slowly began to relax, his eyelids drooping as he fell into a deep sleep.
The doctor and the nurses exchanged a relieved glance. "He's been through a traumatic experience," the doctor said, her voice low. "We need to keep him calm and stable."
One of the nurses nodded. "I'll make sure to monitor his vitals closely."
The doctor smiled. "Good. Let's keep him comfortable and safe."
