“Shut up, Nick. Stop being a know-it-all.” Alexa growled, hating that he saw how badly she wanted Zeke. She needed to tighten her hold on her feelings. Zeke might be a shifter now, but could she really have him as hers? “Don’t you have someplace to be other than here?”
Nick smirked, sparing a glance for Zeke. The man hadn’t said a word, but a satisfied grin tugged at his mouth despite the lingering pain from his transition.
“I hear you loud and clear.” Nick nodded once, giving Zeke a wink.
He barely walked out the door when Zeke bolted from the bed, his new preternatural strength putting him in front of Alexa in seconds. His former slim body was gone, replaced by this strong, menacing muscle machine.
