A few days passed, Ben found himself feeling a weight lifted from his shoulders. Confronting Cassandra had been difficult, but it felt like the closure he’d been seeking for so long. He was ready to start moving forward, but just as he began to settle into his morning routine, another sad news broke his peace. Derek stood on the other side, his face serious, carrying an unusual urgency. “Ben, there’s something you need to know,” Derek said, stepping inside without waiting for an invitation. “It’s about Cassandra.” Ben sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. “What now?
