"Derek, I'm at the hospital. Something's wrong with the baby."
Derek felt the room spin around him. He took a deep breath, trying to steady his thoughts. He dialed Cassandra's number immediately, his heart pounding.
She answered on the first ring, her voice filled with panic and fear. "Derek, I'm scared. The doctor said there might be complications."
"Which hospital are you at?" Derek asked, his voice urgent.
"St. Mary's," Cassandra replied, her voice trembling. "Can you come?"
