Gael glanced at Archie who was fast asleep in Edie’s car. They’d been driving since the sun dropped and hadn’t had to stop once. It worried him, but Archie claimed everything was fine.
Gael took the last turn up the ridge of the Upper South Circle and reached out to touch Archie’s hand. “Arch, we’re almost there.”
“Don’t call me that.” He laced their fingers together, running his thumb over the black signet ring.
“Love, we’re there.”
“I know.” He was silent for a moment. “Do you want to find Ira?”
Ira? Gael hoped he’d never have to see him again. The betrayal stung. “No.”
“Okay.” Archie rubbed his belly and yawned.
“Why did you ask?”
