"Well alright. Back to the case. Father Andrade was with no doubt murdered." Revealed Vivana with at most assurance. "What have you found?" Settled Jessica leaning upon one of the tables at the door entrance. " well, he was being feed with arsenic for sometimes. It's pretty dangerous to the body. When it comes to some old folk, he couldn't take it anymore." "Arsenic? Like heavy metal?" Asked jessica with all her attention taken. "Yeah. Heavy metal. Heavy metal can usually be visible in anything but in his case, they were very little to see with his eyes. His organs had become damaged, the nervous system. He couldn't take it anymore." "How long do you think they've been doing this to him?" "It's been long?" "How long is the question Vivana?" Turned Jessica heading to the dispenser in the room. "I can estimate the exact period, maybe a year or half a year. I really can't estimate it exactly." "How did the metal get into his body?" Jessica sipped on the cup of water she had poured herself. "He obviously drunk it. In tea, water. There is no other way it got into his body. I think his body was fed up, he just fell on the street to die." "Alright. Then I'm starting with the chefs at the church." "As i see it. Yeah. The nuns who make them food or those that serve the food." "Great. I'm starting to appreciate how you work. So first." Complimented Jessica throwing the disposable glass into the trash. "Well, you can't refuse, I make the most of all cases here." Vivana praised herself as she tried to still continue with her job. "Blah... blah. I take back my complement." Snapped Jessica heading out of the room. "She's so mean." Breezed Vivana to herself as she commenced back to her work. Jessica led down the building back to the station finding at her desk a fine gentleman seated. He looked taunted and bothered with his arms crossed upon his chest. Dressed in dark green t-shirt that was directly visible to her eyes. Possed for a moment at another detective's table, Jessica stood to think as usual grabbing her tone up her sleeves. She then decided to approach him smartly straight to her desk. "Hello Mister?" She greeted trying to get her eyes onto his face. Very light beard upon his chin and a pinched face that with very bright blue eyes that were rather sunken in. "Detective white." He muttered grabbing his body from the seat with anxiety. "I'm so glad I had you attention ms. White." "Yes. How may I help you Sir." "My name is Victor Smith ms. And I'm here to report a kidnapping." He muttered gripping his hands upon his thighs. "A k********g?" She muttered with a curious voice. "Who was kidn*pped?" "Yes detective. My daughter was kidn*pped. My two daughters." He reinstated. "Who kidn*pped your daughters." Gasped she. "Someone who needs your attention detective. That person asked me to take you to him." "Me?" She chuckled with atmost doubt. "Yes. You detective. I really need you to come with me. You're the only salvation for my two lovely daughters." "What do you do Mr. Victor?" She started looking for her reasons. "I'm an ex marine. I work at an icecream shop." "Do you have a wife?" "No detective. I'm a divorced man. I stay with both my two daughters." "How old are your daughters?" "The oldest is eleven. Tiara. And the young one is six, Bianca. Please help me Ms. White." He cried. "I must help you sir. But you still have to answer a few of my other questions." "Yes. Whatever you desire. Whatever." "How long has it been since your daughters have been missing?" Sat Jessica to listen. "It's a day and a few hours." "How did you know that this person needed me Mr. Victor." "Detective. I had just arrived work from home yesterday trying to get myself set in to do my job when I received a call. It was unknown and I usually don't answer those but I felt the need too. I picked up the phone to my ear to see who was calling when suddenly a bold voice answered grumply." "Do you recall everything he said?"leaned Jessica grabbing her pen from the table into her hands trying to get the camera in Victor's face. "Yes. I recall what he said to the letter." "Now repeat it for me right here so I can know exactly my need for this." "Well. When I picked up the phone, he answered. I DID THINK YOU WOULD ANSWER MR. VICTOR. I HAVE BOTH YOUR TWO SWEETHEARTS WITH ME HERE. he chuckled putting my dear Bianca on as she told me that uncle was taking them to Disney land. She was very joyed when he again got back to the call talking to me before I could even say anything to scare my girl. I WILL RETURN THEM BOTH SAFELY IF YOUR BRING ME A LADY NAMED JESSICA CARRIEWHITE. SHE IS A DETECTIVE IN THE LOS ANGELES POLICE. THE CLOCK IS TICKING. He then hung up the phone." "So that mean he didn't give you a reason why he needed me?" "No detective, he didn't. He just made sure I knew where to find you." "He didn't even tell you where to take me when you found me." "No. He didn't. " "Now please tell me, what did you do the moment you received that phone call?" "I rushed off back home with my apron on finding their nanny had been hit to the ground. I tried waking her up but she was unconscious so I called for help and the ambulance came and picked her up. I started looking up for who you are of course. So I decided to come see you today." "Alright Mr. Victor. I shall need to talk to the nanny. Please inform me whenever she's conscious again and whenever you receive another phone call from that man." "You're not going to help me now detective? I'm desperate." "Look here victor. I have everything I need from you. I'm willing to help you sir. Right now, I have to analyse what you have told me. And see what I find. You need to go back home and wait for my response." "You didn't note down a thing detective, you just sat there with your pen. That's very unprofessional if you ask me." "Mr. Victor. One of my skills is listening to the letter. I believe that's why your friend kidnapper needs me. Now I want you to note down your number on this piece of paper and do what I've asked you to do." He held but the Pen Jessica offered him nothing down his number then throwing back the pen down to the table as he tried to see his way out. "Didn't you forget something Mr. Victor?" Called Jessica with a smirk. "No." "Nothing? Nothing at all?" She continued. "No detective. Nothing." "Well either way. I will just hand you my card number. If anything comes up, please call me." "Thank you detective." He deemed from his toughness seeing the way out. As soon as Victor left, Jessica picked up her phone which was already on for about a couple of minutes and on she chanted. "Have you received his face." She snapped the pen off. "Yes." Answered Mickey who was already settled upon his computer coding in. "And?" "He is Victor Smith. He was sent out of the army three years ago suspected to have linked some private information onto social media." "He is a rat then." Muttered Jessica. "As of now, he was found clean but still kept out of the marine. Another commander though known as general Stuart Armstrong who you allegedly replaced in the army was the one linking the information." "Yeah. Stuart Armstrong, we've met. The day he had to hand me his office. Not again though. What was the information they say he linked?" "Let me see... Panted Mickey through the articles. "Oh. Here it is." "Read it." "Here is says. MURDEROUS MOTHERLAND. TWENTY ONE OF OUR OWN MEN HAVE BEEN BRUTALLY MURDERED BY OUR VERY OWN COUNTRY. YOUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS, HUSBANDS AND WIVES WERE KILLED BY WHAT WE ALL CALL OUR LEADERS. And it ends. They call it a false article." "Officer Armstrong wasn't around at the time we were being experimented on. He couldn't know so much information about what was going on the time we went to war." Stated Jessica convinced. "Maybe someone was linking him into the army." "Would it be him having known that I did the experiment but I survived." Asked Jessica with all curiosity. " "I don't think so, he said twenty one soldiers were killed. Apparently, you're the twenty first." "Instead of showing himself here to get caught, he decided to Kidnapp Victor's kids so he can contact me indirectly." "You nailed it. I also strongly believe that Armstrong is the one calling for your attention. The question is, what does he want?" "We shall find that out in few time. I need you to also look into the los Angeles parish. I want you to find me the list of all priests who were nominated as the next church Bishop." "At your service." Muttered Mickey when Dannie approached Jessica's table. "Anything on the priest?" He said, giggly. "All we know is that he didn't commit suicide. And if he did, that's a very stupid way of killing himself." Denoted Jessica with all thoughts back to the case. "What next." "We are visiting the kitchen." Exclaimed she getting up from her seat. "What's gotten into you. You've never had lunch with any detective here. Not even me." Cracked Dannie upon his badge. "Well, I'm not planning to. We are heading to the church kitchen to investigate the case." Detailed she a little clearer. "And there I was raising my Hope's." Muttered Dannie to himself as he followed White who was already almost out of the room. At their exit, Jessica grimmed from with in her body as though a light wind had past her skin. Her face went pale and eyes sparkled up but immediately turned to normal when Dannie touched her inquiring if she was doing find. "Yeah. I am. Don't touch me ever again Dannie." She fouled with a disposal of anguish. "Alright. I was just concern about you. that's all." "Thank you but don't do that ever again." They hoped into her car and Dannie immediately tightened his seatbelt with his mouth shout to not ever open again without the mistress's authority. She drove through the way to following the directions her cars was indicated as he sighted Dannie who was seated like the world was about to end. "Hey." She snapped to pick a conversation from him. "Sorry about how I reacted earlier." "It's alright. There are not any grudges. We are perfectly fine." Smirked Dannie back at her as she parked the car for them to head out. They briskly walked inside having Dannie crossed his forehead to the shoulder showing respect to the house of God as Jessica never cared to even set her eyes upon the sculpture of jesus on the cross. "Have you been to church lately?" Muttered Dannie asking Jessica who tried to miss the question having him repeat himself. "I haven't been to church since that God decided to take away everything I loved." She muttered with anguish. "So. You're mad at the almighty as well. Who ain't you mad at?" He joked as the kept walking inside without talking to anyone. "Nobody. I'm mad at everything that is still breathing. I'm mad at myself too. Can you stop with the questions Dannie. Let's do what got us here the see our way off as soon as we can." "Okay." They were still walking in when they both caught an eye of one of the nuns who was visibly serving their lunch, they walked up to her pushing the trolley and dared to show her there badges. As soon as she was alerted about there work, her face went pale and tongue seemed to sink in as she tried to address them. "Detectives, What brings you here? Are you dining with us?" She pompously smiled with her whole set. "We want to ask you a few question sister." Uttered Donnie who seemed to have alot of respect for the old lady. "How can I help you dear?" She joyed down. "Who serves the priests here their meals. Rather, who serves father Andrade his meals." Pointed Jessica as soon as the nun showed the interest. "Well detective, every priest here has there own mary who serves them. With father Andrade, that must be sister Constance." "Have you by any chance seen sister constance around?" Continued Jessica. "Of course. She is up mother superior's office reporting something." "And where could that office be?" "It's just up the stares of the next after those two door." She pointed through the corridors. "Thank you sister." Concluded Dannie. "It's my pleasure helping you too detective." Smirked the nun pushing her trolley ahead. They both briskly walked past the two room as they had been directed then to the third one that clearly had stairs showing up another room. Convinced, Jessica walked in first then Dannie following up the stairs and on the door they knocked. In a few minutes, the door was shoved open and on there sight was sister constance who was still looking distressed. "Detective. She muttered with a faint voice as though she was expecting her. Come in." Gracefully they saw themselves inside where the supposed mother superior sat leading upon her desk with a decaying face that even worsen when she caught her eyes upon the two detectives. "Mother, as I was telling you, luckily the detective came to get it herself." "I can't dispose off that list detective." Stated the old lady from the tone of her authority. "Well superior, we shall really need to take a look at that list and more so keep a copy. You clearly heard that father Andrade died right?" Chided jessica upon the walk. "Yes. It is said that he committed suicide detective. As sister constance explained to me here." "Well, we are sorry to inform you mother superior but father Andrade was killed. Our periminary forensic report came out showing that he was being fed with a hard metal in his drinks. Arsenic to be more clear. you by any chance know about this sister Constance?" Confronted Jessica with a grin. "No! Of course I don't detective. Father Andrade's meals have been in my care. I serve them myself. No one does. From his breakfast to dinner." "Can I please see that list mother superior." Asked Jessica yet again watching the old lady go down the drawers and out she picked a blue file that she handed over to her. Jessica saw her eyes through the list as she kept asking about each of the priests until she pointed on the seventh one, father Joseph Winner who was explained to have been a good friend of father Andrade but later on, they went off terms. He among the nine had ever had issues but considered for it to be humans, there was no motive for him to kill the priest. Sister constance kept on explaining her point of view about father winner who also did come with them from New York to los Angeles as they had been transferred. "Can we see father Joseph Winner's chambers mother superior?" Asked jessica showing the atmost discretion they were to show as they tried to find there anything to implicate the suspect. Mother superior handed them her spare key showing all her disagreement and need to solve the puzzle. Dannie got to grab it when Jessica's phone whined to be received. She glanced at the caller seeing a distance away from Dannie who was being shown where to head to. She answered. "Mickey!" Called her in a low voice. "I found the list you asked me too. A you in the search about father Andrade's murder?" He asked with a deeper know it all voice. "Yes. That's the case. I already got my hands on the list but thank you. You could have done it faster it I had asked already." "Well, I have someone i think you should look into." He muttered. "Father Winner?" "Yes. It's not just because he had an issue with father Andrade. It's because father Winner has a criminal record. And it's not just a mere thing. He has been charged for murder of two young girls." "That's interesting. He could have changed and seen to be a good man. Right?" "Ms. J. Killers like him don't change, the man is a psycho. He picks at any reason to kill someone." "How long ago was he charged of murder?" She inquired. "Eighteen years. He left prison nine years ago. Reason, good behavior and joined the priest hood." "Nothing is incriminating him to this case. Right? Father Andrade was being fed a heavy metal. That must have been done by someone who is really good at chemistry and knows the effect." "Yeah. That's interesting. Because Winner here was a science teacher back then about twenty years ago. Before he quit school and killed two of his students." "So, this might be the guy. We must find his motive then we go to him." "Yes Ms." "Thank you Mickey." Smirked Jessica hanging up the phone then walking to were Dannie and sister constance had led. She as a few nuns who easily directed her and just inside the room he got. Dannie was going through the drawers in the room whereas constance was there staring at him. Jessica then started staring around the room. Knocking on the heavy walls and stamping the wooden floor with her feet. She then looked under the bed which was empty. Sticking the mattress off the metallic bed and still nothing, but as she was throwing back the mattress, her eyes caught a loose wood upon the bed lay. She hurriedly pushed the bed away picking all their attention and on the ground she knelt getting the wood that was serving as the entrance for a safe deposit hole. Inside was a small box that she picked out for seat and read as Dannie came just right by her shoulders. On opening the box, their were a couple of photos of sister constance and those of father Andrade. A few when they were together talking and the others when they were each alone. Jessica then quiet to think when her eyes caught the back of one to sister Constance's picture that on it was written. "My inspiration." She smirked turning to the nun who had not the idea about what they had found. She cleared her voice then the words to say to her. "Sister constance, do you by any chance. Um... have an affair with father winners here." She muttered trying to be respectful. "God forbid detective. How can you ask me such a question?" She vowed clearly innocent. "Sorry. Has father Winner ever asked for your service dear." Continued Jessica. "Once but about a year ago, he wanted me to be helping with his meals but father Andrade, may his soul rest in eternal peace demanded that I was in his care. Of course father Winner got angry but then, he forgot." "Thank you then sister." Appreciated Jessica who with her sight was all she needed. They headed out the room finding a lone time with Dannie. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" She turned to Dannie. "As much as we could deny it, this was a crime of passion. Winners has been interested in constance as a woman and father Andrade wasn't letting him get his way." Muttered Dannie in clearance. "So to take him off his back, he has been poisoning him." Concluded Jessica. "We have to find him. How come we haven't asked where he might be." Rushing back into the superior's office, they inquired with need to know where father Joseph Winner was and of course, they were directed to a church named st. Paul where his attention and services had been called for. They both rushed to the car and off they drove to the supposed st. Paul's church where a priest stood infront of about thirty children preaching to them. He had set his eyes on the two stranger but never bothered to care until he was guarded about an his sides as though they were great friends of his. He was very grey and nearly his sixties. Very red at face and psychotic with gaze. Ranting the kids away for a supposed break, Jessica managed to cuff Winner to the station as he tried resisting and informing them that they were calling upon the lord's anguish upon themselves for blaming a man of God. They drove him to the station where he was questioned and shown the pictures he had kept away. He kept on denying every charge. But about an hour later on when he set his eyes upon sister constance, his green gaze turned with a spite upon his lips. He looked at her as though she was the only one in the room and then he mumbled. "You're going to be serving me dear constance, after all, father Andrade is no more. Right?" "You're despicable father." Muttered constance with a rage. "No. See. He was getting in our way. I had to do something about it. You know how much I cared about you." "You will rot in jail for your sins. Not even God would forgive you father." Mentioned Constance walking away in anger as he though kept on smiling. Jessica had to call for his attention back at the table informing him about his charges again and how he had confessed. Winners sat in a quite for a few minutes then whining in suspense as Carriewhite saw her way out of the room back to her table watching him being taken out but the cops.
