Chapter 12
The night after the chaotic pool party was eerily quiet. Priscilla lay in her bed, staring at the ceiling, her mind a whirlpool of thoughts and emotions. She was aware that Alpha Davies, her original pack’s leader, along with George and Benson, would be visiting the next day to discuss land disputes. This would be the first official visit since her mating with Alpha Dreads, and she couldn’t help but feel a mix of anxiety and anticipation.
Her secret rendezvous with George and Benson still lingered in her mind. It had been a bittersweet reminder of what could have been. She was deeply concerned about how this visit would unfold, knowing that any hint of her secret encounters could spell disaster.
The next morning, the pack house was a hive of activity. Maids and servants rushed about, cleaning and preparing for the arrival of the guests. Priscilla could hear the distant clatter of dishes and the hum of conversation. She found herself pacing her room, trying to quell the rising tide of nerves.
Felicia entered the room with a breakfast tray, her demeanor as cheerful as ever. Priscilla watched her carefully, still grappling with the betrayal she felt after discovering Felicia’s involvement with Alpha Dreads.
“Good morning, Luna,” Felicia said, setting the tray down on a small table. “I brought you breakfast.”
“Thank you, Felicia,” Priscilla replied, her voice betraying her inner turmoil. “Today is a big day.”
Felicia nodded, her expression thoughtful. “It is. I’m sure everything will go smoothly.”
Priscilla gave a tight smile, not entirely convinced. She began to eat, her mind elsewhere. The looming visit felt like a storm cloud hanging over her, and she could only hope that the day would end without any major incidents.
By mid-morning, the guests had arrived. The pack house’s large front doors swung open to reveal Alpha Davies, a formidable figure with a stern expression. Beside him stood George and Benson, both of whom immediately caught Priscilla’s eye. She felt a pang of longing and guilt as she saw them, but she quickly composed herself.
Alpha Dreads greeted them with a formal nod. “Welcome, Alpha Davies. I trust your journey was uneventful.”
“It was,” Alpha Davies replied curtly. “We have much to discuss.”
Priscilla stood slightly behind Dreads, trying to remain composed. George’s eyes met hers briefly, and she saw a flicker of concern. Benson gave her a reassuring smile, but the tension was palpable.
The group moved to the large meeting hall, a grand room with a long table and high-backed chairs. As they took their seats, Priscilla noticed Beta Rob entering the room, his presence adding to her unease. He gave her a knowing look, one that sent a shiver down her spine.
Alpha Dreads began the discussion. “We are here to address the land disputes that have caused tension between our packs. I hope we can come to a resolution today.”
Alpha Davies nodded. “That is our intention as well. The disputed territories have long been a source of conflict. We seek a fair solution.”
As the alphas delved into the intricacies of the land disputes, Priscilla found it difficult to concentrate. Her mind kept drifting to the night she spent with George and Benson. She feared that any moment Beta Rob might reveal her secret, using it as leverage against her.
Felicia, who had been standing by to serve drinks, caught Priscilla’s eye. There was something unsettling about her presence. Felicia had been her confidante, but now, knowing her affair with Alpha Dreads, Priscilla couldn’t trust her completely.
As the discussions continued, Felicia approached with a tray of refreshments. She moved gracefully around the room, serving each person. When she reached Priscilla, she leaned in slightly and whispered, “Stay strong, Luna.”
Priscilla’s heart skipped a beat. Was Felicia genuinely trying to support her, or was this part of a larger scheme? The uncertainty gnawed at her.
As the hours passed, the discussions became more heated. Alpha Davies and Alpha Dreads were both strong-willed leaders, and neither was willing to concede easily. George and Benson remained quiet, their eyes occasionally flicking towards Priscilla.
At one point, Alpha Davies raised his voice. “The land in question has belonged to my pack for generations. Your claims are baseless.”
Alpha Dreads responded coolly, “We have historical records that support our claim. We are prepared to defend our position.”
Priscilla could sense the growing animosity. She glanced at Beta Rob, who seemed to be enjoying the conflict. His eyes met hers, and he smirked. It was a look that promised trouble.
The tension reached a boiling point when Beta Rob spoke up. “Perhaps we should take a break. Emotions are running high, and it would be wise to clear our heads before continuing.”
Alpha Dreads agreed, and the group dispersed. Priscilla found herself alone with George and Benson in a quiet corner of the pack house. They looked at her with concern.
“Priscilla, are you alright?” George asked, his voice filled with genuine worry.
She nodded, but tears welled up in her eyes. “I’m trying to hold it together, but it’s so difficult.”
Benson stepped closer, his expression softening. “We’re here for you. Always.”
Their closeness brought a brief moment of comfort, but it was short-lived. Felicia appeared, her expression unreadable. “Luna, Alpha Dreads is looking for you.”
Priscilla pulled away from George and Benson, her heart heavy. “I’ll be there shortly.”
Felicia’s gaze lingered on her, and Priscilla felt a chill run down her spine. She couldn’t shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong.
As the discussions resumed, Beta Rob made his move. “Before we continue, I have something to reveal that may impact these negotiations.”
Alpha Dreads looked at him, puzzled. “What is it, Rob?”
Beta Rob smirked, his eyes gleaming with malice. “It’s come to my attention that Luna Priscilla has been… unfaithful.”
The room fell silent. Priscilla’s heart stopped. She felt as if the ground had been pulled from under her.
Alpha Davies’ expression turned to one of shock and anger. “What is the meaning of this?”
Beta Rob continued, enjoying the chaos he was creating. “Luna Priscilla has been consorting with members of your pack, Alpha Davies. Specifically, your son and nephew.”
George and Benson both stood up, their faces a mixture of fury and fear. “This is a lie!” George shouted.
Alpha Dreads turned to Priscilla, his eyes cold and accusing. “Is this true?”
Priscilla felt tears streaming down her face. “It’s not what it seems, Dreads. Please, let me explain.”
Felicia stepped forward, her face a mask of concern. “I’m sorry, Luna. I tried to warn you.”
Priscilla looked at her, betrayal cutting deep. “Felicia, how could you?”
Felicia’s eyes hardened. “I serve the pack, Priscilla. My loyalty is to Alpha Dreads.”
