Looking up from the files finally, I looked towards the window only to see it was already dark. I tilted my head and looked at the clock, and it was past one in the morning. Stretching my arms, I stood up from the chair and walked out of my office.
I went straight into the kitchen to see if there was something to eat, knowing that everyone must be sleeping by now. They are all tired and excited about the ball, but I am afraid. I don't want Scarlett to face those bastards, not even that cold-blooded.
I raided the fridge and came across a few sandwiches. After eating them, I went upstairs, walking through the hallway to go back into the guestroom which was next to my room. I halted abruptly, reaching the door. Taking a look at the door of my room, I saw the lights were out.
