Hui-Jun take a deep breath before entering the main room, he then see So-Mi walking toward him with her son.

“Aigoo…who is this handsome one?” Hui-Jun gently pinch the cheek of her baby.

“Baek Ji-Hoon…Ji-Hoon ah, this is Hui-Jun samchoon..” said So-Mi.

“Ji-Hoon annyeong..” Hui-Jun love to see him.

“I was so happy when I heard you’re coming back…good job..” So-Mi hug him.

“But why are you here? Have you visit your parents?” So-Mi ask.

“I just get back from Ilsan, I want to greet eomoni..” Hui-Jun said.

“Ah…have you heard about her and Ji-A?” So-Mi looks sad.

Hui-Jun nod…”Eo..I heard it from aboenim and Beom-Seok..” he answer.

“I tried all ideas I could think about getting them together…but all failed. Ji-Yeon eonnie is fed up too, now I know where Ji-A got her stubbornness from…” So-Mi rolling her eyes.

“Are they avoiding each other?” Hui-Jun ask.

“Yes…and if they happen to be in the same room they just don’t talk to each other….like stranger…aboenim is upset too..” she said.

“What is the real problem noona?” Hui-Jun ask.

“Because the wedding…the one that got called off. Ji-A was begging her to help her cancel the wedding, but eomoni already loved everything about Gyeong-Su and she see nothing wrong with him as he was and always doing very good for her…” So-Mi explain.

“Is she dislike me?” Hui-Jun ask carefully.

So-Mi shook he head immediately, “No..no..no..that’s not the case. She said its not that because you’re not a good man to be with, but at that time you and Ji-A were no hope to be together again, and eomoni wants Ji-A to get marry soon. And when the one that asked her is Gyeong-Su eomoni was very happy to have her married with him. So why she should wasting time for the uncertain you and her while in that present time Gyeong-Su was in her life even asked her to marry him.” Said So-Mi.

“But the married then called off by Gyeong-Su, why did she mad at Ji-A? I heard they even fight because of that..” said Hui-Jun.

So-I take a deep breath, “The night before the wedding, Ji-A beg for eomoni to listen to her again, she was even kneeled down in front of eomoni asking her to understand that she really didn’t want to get married with Gyeong-Su. But eomoni never listen to her. And at the wedding, when we finally found out that Gyeong-Su missing even bailed the wedding and breaking up with her via a letter, eomoni was the first person that leave the venue. When we got home, eomoni didn’t say a word at all. Then you know how Ji-A, she always speak what’s in her mind when something make her uncomfortable..so she was asked eomoni that night..” So-Mi remember the night when the fight break.

“Eomma why you always look at me like that?” Ji-A express her frustration because of her mom acting so annoying the whole week toward her.

Mi-Na doesn’t answer her but she only give her a glance and her face show that she is very annoyed by Ji-A question.

“See...you do looks hate me so much, what did I do eomma? For a day or two I can bear it but this aleady last for the whole week…” Ji-A attack on Mi-Na.

“Ji-A ah stop it..” Jae-Hwan warn his sister.

“Why? She really looks like she want to yelled at me the whole time but she can’t so she hold grudges like that..” Ji-A losing her patience.

“Then try to be honest with me…what did you say to Gyeong-Su so that embarrassing accident happen?!” Mi-Na start to talk.

“Yeobo…I told you its not like that..” Jae-Dok try to calm his wife.

“What?? Eomma do you really think of me like that?” Ji-A cannot believe what she just heard.

“Then what? You practically begged to me more than once to cancel the wedding. Who know what you asked to Gyeong-Su so he acted like that, Gyeong-Su would never disappoint me like that..” Mi-Na talk in high tone of voice.

“Eomma you really are too much… You know how I felt about the wedding and even ignore me when I was begging you like a crazy b***h, and now you think that worst about me…after what I did to please you?? I decide to gave up my dream and accept my fate because of you!! Because you looked so happy when you prepared the wedding and bragged about Gyeong-Su oppa to everyone… I thrown my self to uncertain future because of you!!” Ji-A almost shout because of her anger.

BRAK!!!! “I TOLD YOU TO STOP ACTING LIKE THAT!!!” Jae-Dok look so angry, he look at Mi-Na, then he look at Ji-A “AND YOU!! STOP TALKING LIKE THAT, THIS IS YOUR MOM!!” he scold her bad.

“Is it so hard to accept that its not me who cancel the wedding? Do you really have to blame me like that? I’m hurting too eomma…I’m embarrassing too…doesn’t it should be me that blame you?” Ji-A almost crying while saying that.

“Ji-A ah stop it..” So-Mi hold her hand.

Mi-Na get up for her seat, “Right…blame me!! Tell me bad things!! Don’t ever see me or talk to me again!!” Mi-Na leave the dining room.

“And the next day ahjumma packing all of her things and send it to her condo, Jae-Hwan said she’s going to stay there for a while…but then she never return..” So-Mi ended her story.

Hui-Jun doesn’t comment anything, he just silent while thinking about what he should do about this.

“Is eomoni home?” Hui-Jun ask.

So-Mi nod, “She is at the green house..” So-Mi said.

Hui-Jun look at So-Mi and he look very nervous, “noona, I don’t know whether my decision to jump into their conflict is advantages me or not, but I do it for Ji-A. I want to start my life with her, without mistakes that haunted us before, and to do it right I need everyone blessing. I got my parents, I already talked with aboenim too, and I need hers too…is it the right thing to do?” Hui-Jun ask.

“It’s the right thing to do..” So-Mi support him, “But it won’t be the easiest thing to overcome…they’re both are stubborn..” So-Mi whispering and giggling.

Hui-Jun goes inside the green house, he look around and find Mi-Na is taking care her orchids. Mi-Na realize someone approaching her,

“So-Mi is that you?” she ask then turn her head.

Hui-Jun bow at her politely and greet her, “Annyeonghaseyo eomoni, long time not see..” he said.

Mi-Na surprise to see Hui-Jun stand right in front of her, she never expected that this man coming to her especially now.

“Eo..” Mi-Na get up, she lost for words.

“What…what bring you here?” Mi-Na ask.

“I just got back from USA few days ago, and I decided to visit you, I just got back from Ilsan too before I come here..” he said.

“Ah…is your mom okay?” she ask.

“Yes..she is healthy..” Hui-Jun answer.

Then they’re both just stand in silent,

“Let’s have a tea…” Mi-Na then walk to the door and Hui-Jun follow.

“What did you do in USA?” Mi-Na ask while pouring some tea to his cup.

“Just working and enjoy my days..” Hui-Jun accepting the tea.

“Movie?” Mi-Na put the cake in his plate.

“Ahahaha…no, I worked in my friend’s vineyard..” Hui-Jun laugh.

“Vineyard?” Mi-Na laugh to hear that.

“How long did you stay?” Mi-Na ask.

Hui-Jun paused for a while, “Actually..I was leaving Seoul the day of the wedding..but then somehow I met Gyeong-Su hyung at California few days ago and heard about what happen, and I decided to come back that day..” Hui-Jun explain in very careful tone.

Mi-Na only silent to hear that, she put down her tea cup and take a deep breath,

“Then are you here looking for Ji-A? she’s not here, she’s leaving the house…you go to a wrong place then…you can go to her place..” Mi-Na get up and about to leave the room.

“Eomoni, I know about what happen between you and Ji-A..and the reason I come here is to meet you..” Hui-Jun get up to stop her.

“What did she say? Did she say that I the worst mother to her?” Mi-Na sounds sarcastic.

“No..no..eomoni, she didn’t say anything. And I knew about this not from her, she doesn’t know that I’m here too..” Hui-Jun reply.

“Then what you want? I have nothing to do with her life again…I won’t..” Mi-Na sound so cold.

“Please leave the house, thank you for your visit..” Mi-Na leave the room.

“Eomoni, I want to start my life again and I know my happiness is only to be with your daughter, and so she is. We waited and faced a lot to reach this moment, but this time I want to do it right. And the most important thing is our parent’s blessing. I need your blessing, I won’t do it without yours…” Hui-Jun said while she leave.

Mi-Na heard everything but she still walking in vague expression on her face.

“Oppa??!! Is that you?” Ji-A heard the door open.

“Since when you call me oppa….” Hyeon-U show up at the kitchen and toss the cinnamon roll glass pan to her.

“My mom bake cinnamon roll before I leave, she insist that I have deliver 1 for you..” Hyeon-U put the cinnamon roll.

“This come with message, quit rebelling go back home, she will bake you fudge brownies, corn breads, and lots of cinnamon roll for you..” Hyeon-U said.

“She will give them to me everyday?” Ji-A ask while tear the cinnamon roll.

“Eo…she will..” Hyeon-U said.

Ji-A just smiling and take a bite of it.

“You’re pretending that you’re not listening to me right?” Hyeon-U know his bestfriend.

“Eo…” Ji-A keep munching the bread and ignore him.

“Jeezz…so where is your oppa now?” Hyeon-U ask.

“Ilsan…” said Ji-A.

“Is he living with you now?” Hyeon-U notice a box full with man clothes and accessories at the living room.

“He hasn’t got new place, he said he will be staying with Beom-Seok oppa, but I told his assistant who keep those stuff to send it here…” said Ji-A.

“Ya..he has 2 buildings in Gangnam, and 2 other in Dongdaemun, he only has to pick one..” Hyeon-U said, “Does ahjussi know about this?” Hyeon-U ask.

Ji-A shook her head, “Why? I live on my own now…” she said.

“You are looking for another trouble, your dad will chop him to death when he find out and he will send you to monastery for good..” Hyeon-U scared her.

“Eeeyyy…you scared me…” Ji-A glance at him.

“I’m not…it will happen…for sure…” Hyeon-U take a bit of the bread too then Ji-A hit his hand,

“This is mine…” she scold him, Hyeon-U raise his hand away from the bread.

“Cheapskate…” he mumbling, “I’m sincerely telling you as a friend, just don’t add another trouble..you already tangled with your mom issue, don’t you think your family okay with your condition with you mom, fighting…” Hyeon-U said.

“Why you’re lecturing me now..” Ji-A protest.

“Because Ji-A its not cute anymore. You should give up to your mom, make up with her, no matter what she did she is your mom…” said Hyeon-U.

“Quiet…I don’t want your lecture today..” Ji-A said without even dare to look at him. 

The they heard door open again,

“Oppa..is that you??” Hyeon-U shout teasing to Ji-A.

Seconds later Hui-Jun show up, “Oppa?? Since when I become oppa to you?” Hui-Jun laugh and greet him.

“Since this rockhead shouted “Oppa is that you??” when I arrived..” Hyeon-U smirked.

Hui-Jun laugh, “Chagi ya, why all of those boxes are here? I told them to send those to Beom-Seok place..” Hui-Jun take water from the fridge.

“She told your delivery man to sent those to here…she is literally looking for another world war with her mom…” Hyeon-U snitch on her.

“Ckckckckck…” Hui-Jun look at Ji-A and smile, then he call Beom-Seok to help him with those boxes after work.

“You don’t have place to live yet, and instead of staying with Beom-Seok oppa, you can stay here..” Ji-A said.

“That will be bad for my image in front of your parents..” Hui-Jun softly pinch Ji-A nose for that.

“Why? Don’t you want us to start again? This is where we can start..” Ji-A said.

“I do…That’s why I come back, to get you…to be with you, but I want to do it right..and this is not right..” Hui-Jun take a seat beside Hyeon-U.

“See…this hyung is smarter than you…” Hyeon-U picking his side, Ji-A throw a mean glance at him and Hyeon-U instantly closer his seat to Hui-Jun.

“Do both of you now do a club against me?” Ji-A ask.

“Eo…me, this hyung, Ji-Yeon noona, Jae-Hwan hyung, ahjussi, Ryeo-Uk hyung, Dong-Hyeok…who is on your side? Mi-Yeon? Eisshh, she will join ours sooner…” Hyeon-U said.

“Aaaiissshh…” Ji-A annoyed by him, but Hyeon-U is right.

At night Hui-Jun just finish his shower, he look for Ji-A. He walk thru the living room and heard someone pressing the door lock he goes to check and find Ji-A is doing something with it.

“What are you doing?” Hui-Jun ask.

Ji-A finish her job and looks very satisfied she clapping her hand, “There I’m done. You’re home now so I should change this lock so betrayer like Hyeon-U cannot enter my house as he like and report everything to eonnie..” she said.

Hui-Jun laugh to hear that, he really love the friendship between Ji-A, Hyeon-U and Mi-Yeon, “How about me? You know I’m not on your side too on that issue…” Hui-Jun tease her.

“Right…just go and picking that betrayer side, you’ll surely won’t get anything from me..” Ji-A threatened him, Hui-Jun laugh to heard that.

Now they sit and enjoy some wine while watching television,

“What was it like to work at vineyard?” Ji-A ask.

“It was fun…. No one know me as the celebrity..except Hee-Chul hyung and Jane noona…I was really really really living as ordinary people, I even sometime receive free lunch from them since I was really living in tight budget and the fun part was I got to drink wine right from the storage…not bottle..” Hui-Jun remember his times.

“That’s good…” said Ji-A.

“How about you? What did you do before I come home?” Hui-Jun ask.

“Work…Looking for you..work..and hanging out with Mi-Yeon, Hyeon-U and Dong-Hyeok…sometimes I went to colleagues dinner…and go to some blind dates that set up by my aunt…you know her…” Ji-A being honest with all her experience.

“Seems like you have a very happy life…” said Hui-Jun.

“Don’t lie to me that you never met girls in California..” Ji-A glance at him.

“I didn’t…. you can ask Hee-Chul hyung…” said Hui-Jun.

“Well you can ask my aunt too how I aways ruined her blind dates…” Ji-A remember how her aunt always scold her after the blind went bad, she even one pretend to act very crazy and hired many of her friends male nurses to be her pretend boyfriends.

“Were you waiting for me?” Hui-Jun playing with her hair.

Ji-A nod, “Now you’re back…Let’s get everything settled between us..” she said.

“Let’s do that…” he reply, “With 1 condition..” he add.

“What is that?” Ji-A ask.

“Make up with your mom….I want to have everyone blessing…and hers is one of the most important…” Hui-Jun ask in a very soft tone.

Ji-A expression changed, she put down her glass and only look straight to the television,

“Why?” Hui-Jun ask.

“Nothing..” she lied.

Hui-Jun put down his glass then hug her, “You know how hard I reach this moment? Not I…we…us… we’ve been separated, reuniting, separated again until now we’re find our way back….let’s do it right…” he persuading her.

Ji-A still silent,

“At least please do it for me…for us…eo? Will you? Giving up doesn’t mean you lost the battle…also what happen is not a battle, just a misunderstanding…” Hui-Jun speak very gentle and careful at her.

Suddenly Ji-A has tears drops from her eyes, Hui-Jun hug her right away.

“She was the one who started it…she thought so awful about me, while I was really put aside everything I want only to make her satisfied…” Ji-A sobbing.

“I know…I know…but she is your mom, you should have bigger heart and just apologize..” he calm her.

“I’m not the one who’s wrong..” she keep her stubbornness.

“I know…” Hui-Jun release the hug and look straight into her eyes, “And everyone know too what happen that day was not your fault…” he said.

“Just put aside your ego, and think about me if you still can’t give your mom a room in your heart for this…think about me…about us…I want to start everything, and I will make you happy for sure…” Hui-Jun hug her.

Jae-Dok not find his wife at the bedroom, she was there before he go for shower. He smile and know where exactly where she is. He go upstair and carefully walk when he’s near Ji-A room. He look the room’s light is on, he smile and walk approaching the door.

“Oh!! You scared me!!” Jae-Dok pretend to be in shocked when he open the door and find Mi-Na sitting on Ji-A’s bed hugging her monkey doll.

Mi-Na startled to see Jae-Dok coming and she quickly get up and throw the doll from her arm. Jae-Dok laugh to see her act.

“What are you doing here?” Mi-Na pretending like nothing happen.

“Ah…she was borrowed one of my neuro book and I need that right now, I have surgery about that tomorrow…do you know where she usually put her books?” Jae-Dok pretend to see nothing about his wife being in Ji-A room.

“I don’t know..maybe on her desk..” Mi-Na reply with no interest on it.

“Help me to find it…I really need it…” Jae-Dok ask her and pretend to be busy looking for his books on Ji-A desk and library corner.

Mi-Na look at her husband, and in the end she walk toward him and help him. Jae-Dok smile to see that.

“Yeobo…I can’t believe that brat can be a neuro surgeon like me..look at her books in this row and this…all manhwa and all in this section are novel…fiction..romance..it’s a miracle she got to be like I am now…” said Jae-Dok while pointing at Ji-A line of comics and novels.

“She has her own style on learning…..she is smart..” Mi-Na reply.

Jae-Dok smile…and he find Ji-A picture with Mi-Yeon and Hyeon-U when they’re in 4th grade, “Look at this..she even keep picture when she and her brat friends being punished..” Jae-Dok show her the picture.

Mi-Na look at it and a smile created on her face, but she then realize it and change her face expression quickly, “She always stubborn…” she said.

In the picture Ji-A, Hyeon-U and Mi-Yeon sitting in the corner of the garden with all of their arms raised up. Hyeon-U and Ji-A were crying on the picture while Mi-Yeon look frustrated to see them crying.

“Do you still remember why we punished them?” ask Jae-Dok.

“They stole bonsai from mr Sung and cut the bonsai in 3 pieces…” Mi-Na answer.

“That bonsai was about to sent into contest the next day…we and the other parents got to kneel down for 30 minutes and received scolding from that old man because of those brats…” Jae-Dok laugh.

Mi-Na silently smile remembering that memory.

Jae-Dok look at his wife and understand her.

“Should I drag her and make her beg for your forgiveness? I will do everything to see you smiling again…you smile less lately…I don’t want people think you’re not happy being my wife…” Jae-Dok speak to her.

“What do you mean…there’s nothing happen..aah I don’t know which one your book is…just buy a new one..” she try to convert the topic.

“It’s been too long…just forgive her…you know how stubborn she is…just make up with her…I promise to give her a very rough days at the hospital to revenge you…” Jae-Dok said.

“Beside..Hui-Jun was come to see me and he said about starting again with her..but he want our blessing..not only me..ours..” Jae-Dok add.

Mi-Na just keep silent, suddenly Jae-Dok hug her from the back, “She is a rockhead, but its you who can always tame her…just pretend to give in this time..we can always punish her anytime we want later…” Jae-Dok said.

Mi-Na pull out herself from the hug, “I need to check the dinner..” she said and leave.

Jae-Dok watch her leave, while then Mi-Na just do nothing at the kitchen her tought is everywhere.

“What is that?” Ji-A ask the package brought by Mi-Yeon into her office.

“Ouch..that hurts…aaiiisssshhh you are really terrible…” Hyeon-U point at Ji-A.

“I told her to make up with her mom…for a hundred of times…” Hyeon-U dig the sujebi and put it into his bowl.

Mi-Yeon glance at Ji-A,

“What??!! He even gang up with Hui-Jun oppa to attack me..” Ji-A defend herself.

“Tell me honestly…its been a year…and she leave the house without even say nothing to her mom…and until now she never visit her or anything…I said she’s guilty…you?” Hyeon-U ask Mi-Yeon.

“You know I’ve been on your side from the beginning because its sad to see you face him, your sister and oppa and ahjussi alone…but I’m tired to see your rockhead get in your way…get your senses together just go apologize to her and make up…” Mi-Yeon said to Ji-A.

Ji-A put down her bowl, “You too?” she sound surprise with Mi-Yeon repy.

“We’ve been doing all bad things when we’re little, we did lots of things that got us into trouble that end with punishment. We’re too old to get punished now by them…just act like adult now..” Mi-Yeon said.

“See? You have no one now…” Hyeon-U corner her, “Even Hui-Jun hyung beg to you for that..” add Hyeon-U.

“Ah…what is your next plan with him now? Are you and him living together now? Does he propose you? Tell me everything…” Mi-Yeon looks excited.

Ji-A look defeated, “He won’t do anything until me and my mom make peace..”

“Then make peace…what are you thinking? Should I be your negotiator?” Mi-Yeon said.

“That’s right…you want him so bad…he only have 1 easiest condition to be with…its not he ask you impossible thing like create a gold bar, he only ask you talk with your mom and ask for her blessing…” Hyeon-U said.

Ji-A annpyed by her friends, “ARRGGHHH!!!! You both just ruined my appetite!!!” she scold both of them.

“Don’t eat then…You’ll regret that you passed my mom sujebi…” Mi-Yeon ignore her.

“What do you want?” Hui-Jun read the menu.

“Just a full course…I’m so starving..” Ji-A reply. Hui-Jun the ask the waiter to bring them the full dinner menu for 2.

“What were you doing today?” Ji-A ask.

“I went to get my car…I can’t use yours everytime, I also went to see a place…I went to meet CEO Jang to settle some things…you?” Hui-Jun ask her back.

“Just another routine at the hospital..” said Ji-A, “What place?” she ask again.

“Hah?” Hui-Jun look at her.

“You said you went to see a place…what place?” said Ji-A.

“Aah…that place…” Hui-Jun pour the tea into his cup, he look at Ji-A, “Chagi ya…do you want me to tell you the truth?” Hui-Jun ask.

“Of course…why would you lie to me anyway?” she said.

Hui-Jun smile to hear that, “There’s a property that attract me…I went to see that..and I think it’s a best place for me to start a family…” Hui-Jun said, “That…if you want to…” Hui-Jun put the ball into Ji-A’s hand.

“What do you mean if I want to? You know I want it too…” she said.

“Then you know I only have 1 condition for you…and you know that..” Hui-Jun said.

Ji-A speechless to hear that, “Again?”

“Until you and your mom make peace I wil keep asking you that…I know you won’t leave me, I know you will stay with me, but I want us moving forward and I only have 1 thing to ask from you…” Hui-Jun said.

Ji-A only stay silent after that, she is playing with her chopstick. Hui-Jun reach for her hand,

“Let’s do it…do it for me then…please?” Hui-Jun ask her.

“She…I…she won’t forgive me…it’s just too late..” Ji-A said.

Hui-Jun feel there’s hope on his effort, “You haven’t try…” he said.

“I’m too scared…its hurt to see how she look at me, she blame me for everything…” Ji-A said hopelessly.

Suddenly the someone open the divider that connect the room where Ji-A and Hui-Jun sit with the other room, and Mi-Na is the person who do that.

“You were never afraid when I scold you bad or even punished you bad, but how come you runaway when I mistunderstood you..” Mi-Na said.

An hour before Hui-Jun picked up Ji-A, he drop by at the Baek residence after seeing the property that interest him. Jae-Dok, Jae-Hwan and Ji-Yeon already waiting for him. When Mi-Na join them, Hui-Jun kneel before her,

“Eomoni, please come and accept Ji-A apology. Even its only days I’ve been with her again but I can see she always think about her fault whenever I talk about you..” he said.

“Right eomma…just end this cold war, she inherit your worst trait very well..” Ji-Yeon add.

“Eomma…you know I always on your side, but this is already too long and I feel bad about Ji-A…please spare her now I beg you eomma…” Jae-Hwan persuade her.

“Just end this now…I’m too tired to keep pretending nothing happen…” Jae-Dok add too.

“I beg you eomoni, I apologize on her behalf and I will make sure she apologize to you too…please have a big heart..” said Hui-Jun.

Mi-Na look at each of them and sigh, she get up from her seat and walk to her room.

“Can you appreciate this kid for making this effort only to make our daughter happy? I don’t know that..” Jae-Dok word cut,

“If we will go to that stupid restaurant I need to change and bring my bag, do you expect me to go like this? You need to change too…” Mi-Na said then she enter the room.

Jae-Dok and the rest smile as their relieved to hear what Mi-Na just said. Jae-Hwan then help Hui-Jun get up,

“Go…now is your turn to get that rockhead to come and settle with eomma..” he said.
