Another chance

Romela and John are still often seen together because their families are so close. The young man also tried several times to ask Romela if he could court her but the girl always refused. It was not really in her plan to enter into a relationship at that time. Even so, John did not change to Romela. His attitude was still special to the girl. The young man's relatives and friends often noticed that there was something in John when he was with Romela. "Son, can I ask you something?" asked John's mother. "Do you like Romela?" she asked his son, smiling. "Yes. But she doesn't want me to court her yet. I thought she might be hesitating because there is a big age gap between us" said John to his mother. "I know Romela, she is a smart and considerate person, I know that it is not a problem for her" said Mrs. Zild. "Maybe you can help me with her mother. Tell her about my good habits so I can pass to her standards", John said jokingly. Her mother just laughed, knowing that she was close to Romela's mother, so she needed her to help him.

It's Mrs. Zild's birthday and many people are invited to their place. Their relatives, friends and Romela's mother were there. When John asked Romela's mother where the girl was, she said that she was at home and that she was making her daughter do something. Romela agreed not to go to the Zilds' house, because she also thought of avoiding John.Because of that, her mother had just ordered her to clean the house. Actually, when they are in another house, the mother doesn't pay attention to her, as if she doesn't know her. John said goodbye to his mother, pretending to go to one of his friends to invite him. Romela's house is nearby. When he passed by Romela's house, he saw the girl watering the plants. “Hey, why don't you come to our house? Mom is looking for you" he asked the girl. "Because I'm doing something, please tell your mom that I am sorry" Romela apologized while looking away from John. The young man still forced the girl, but she really didn't want to go. John sadly returned to their house. His mother saw him and asked why he seemed so deep in thought. He told the mother the truth that he came from Romela but she didn't want to come. Her mother thought of a way and talked to Carmela. “Carmela, can you please bring Romela here? I'm going to ask her something about the volunteer's schedule" pretending to beg. John's mother is also one of the volunteer teachers. Carmela did nothing but go home to pick up Romela.

"Romela, come please join us!" said Mrs. Zild when she saw the girl arrive. She invited her to enter the house where their relatives were. They looked at Romela and greeted the girl. The girl looked around as if looking for something and when she didn't see it, she immediately breathed a sigh of relief. She didn't want to see John because she didn't want him to ask her again. Mrs. Zild took Romela to the dining area and sat her down. "You stay here first, I'll just call someone" said Mrs. Zild. The girl thought for a moment but told herself that her suspicions might be wrong. "What are you doing here in the room son? John's mother asked him when she caught him in his room. "I feel bad, I just want to rest", pretended John. "No, go down stairs, I have a visitor.. make her feel at home, by the way her name is Romela!" her mother said smiling. “Really? Are you just making fun of me?” John assured her. " Go to the dining room to see her, invite her to eat" said Mrs. Zild with a wink. Excited, John went down to the dining room and saw that Romela was waiting there. The girl was surprised to see the young man. She couldn't make any more excuses.

"Come on, let's get food" John said to the girl. Romela followed, took food and then returned to the dining room. John also followed her there and sat in front of her. They ate in silence when suddenly they looked at each other. They both laughed at their actions. After eating, John took Romela to the garden. "Please come with me, I have something to tell you" the young man said. When they were in the garden, John said what he wanted to say to the girl. " Romela, I'm so sorry if I'm always asking you to let me court you, but I just want to tell you that I won't ask you again if you're not really ready," John said seriously. "But please let me get close to you like before, because now we seemed like we didn't know each other, let's be friends" added the young man. “Okay!” Romela said laughing.

After their conversation, she became close again to John. Whenever the young man sees Romela going home, he walks with her. They are also often seen together. They became close friends. The girl is also always seen watching John's basketball games. Until one day, the young man's ex-girlfriend, Leslie, had returned from America. When John's friends found out, they always teased John.When Romela heard it, she ignored it. There was a major crisis in the Middle East and Romela's father, Robert, was sent home. Because her mother became extravagant, they had no money saved. They were in debt and the girl was forced to find a job. Romela became a crew member for a fast food chain. At first, John always picked her up to take her home, but the girl was surprised when he stopped. Surprisingly, she just ignored it and continued to go to work. Until one day on her way home, she saw a basketball game on the court. She looked at who was playing and assumed that John was there. He did see the young man playing but an unfamiliar woman cheered him on. Romela thought that this might be his ex-girlfriend.

Many things came to Romela's mind that night. First, John and his ex-girlfriend might have gotten back together. Second is his feelings for the young man. She tried to put John out of his mind.She didn't want a repeat of what happened to him and James. Romela was about to go to work when she saw the young man eating with the woman at the restaurant where they used to eat often. Romela seemed to feel jealous and quickly walked away. She asks herself why men who like her seem to move on so quickly. First James with Maureen, then John with his ex-girlfriend. "Am I just that quick to forget?" Romela asked herself.

After Romela's shift at work, her co-workers invited her to drink at the pub. Since the girl doesn't really drink, she quickly gets drunk. On her way home, he met John. She tried to dodge but the young man grabbed her by the arm. Romela tried to release the young man's hold on her but he did not let her go. "Let's talk, you can't go home like that", John whispered to the girl. Romela seemed to realize what the young man said and she just went with him. The two went to the Zilds' house. They went up to John's room and talked there. "Why did you get so drunk? Don't you know that what you have done may harm you?" the young man asked angrily. Romela just looked at him and said, "Why did you bring me here, your girlfriend might get angry... haven't you gotten back together yet?" said the girl sadly. "Who told you?" asked John. "I always saw both of you together, eating at our favorite restaurant, then you changed and you no longer pick me up. Smiling, John handed his phone to Romela. When she looked, her picture was on the wallpaper of the young man's phone. John ordered the girl to open the photo gallery and that's when Romela saw her pictures with her back turned. There are also shots of her walking home. "Wait, you took pictures of me without me knowing? And do you come to my work every day? Why did you not tell me? Romela's question seemed to make her cry.

"I just want to make sure you get home safely. I'm not showing you anymore because I want you to be able to think," answered John. "As for Leslie, my ex. We didn't get back together, we're just friends and I want to introduce you to her" added the young man. "She is also a friend of my friends. So we always happen to be together. Once she asked me where there was a restaurant with good food, I immediately took her to our favorite restaurant". " Leslie already has a boyfriend, she met him in America". "I always think of you Romela, I think the best way for you to notice me is for me to avoid you, but I can't," John said smiling. "I don't know either, since you moved away and you don't show up anymore, I feel uneasy, like something is missing in me" confessed the girl. The two looked at each other as if they understood each other's feelings. "Can I ask you now, if I can court you?" John asked, smiling. "I think we shouldn't go through the courting stage anymore.. because even though I didn't let you court, you made me feel very special" Romela said. “So, what do you mean? are we in a relationship now?" the young man seemed to ask eagerly. "Yes, we are John.." Romela answered him.
