I stood by the window watching and waiting. Ruth and Raven have been gone for way too long already and I didn't know how to feel about them spending time together.
“Is something bothering you?” Calix asked from behind and I grunted in response. He knew I was on edge, I've been on edge for days now.
Ever since that night with Raven, I haven't been able to think straight. She was getting too far underneath my skin and was almost consuming my soul and I hadn't even tasted her yet.
I knew I had to put some space between us so I was able to control the way I thought about her but that didn't help. Everytime she walked in for breakfast, my whole senses were filled with her. I wanted to make her seat away from me yet I wanted her close.
