I tried as much as possible to waste time training with Calix so I didn't have to report to Ruth. I wasn't interested in what she had to say and quite frankly, I didn't think there was anything she could say that could change the opinion I have of her.
“You're stalling,” Calix pointed out after I asked him to train me some more for the third time.
“What makes you think that?” I asked and he tilted his head.
“I won't have become Beta if I couldn't read people, Ravenna” He said and I scoffed.
“Yet, you can seem to read Lilian” I retorted and he frowned.
