Chapter 9 Gabriella watched Jason go. For some reason, she was still angry at him for stepping back into her life and standing in the way of her chance at the top job. But most especially, she was mad at her brother for making it happen. She didn’t typically get this worked up, and she needed to talk to someone about it. Also, the anxiety she seemed to have developed from the blackmail made everything worse. Unfortunately, she couldn’t talk to anyone about that. She picked up her phone and dialed a number. “Hi, Jasmine,” she said. “Hey, Gabriella,” Jasmine said from the other end of the line. “Is this a good time?” “It’s fine.
