822 Words
I woke up with a bubble of excitement within me. The Full Moon Festival was just around the corner, and it amazed me how quickly time had flown by. Only two days remained until the festival. Everyone in the Crystal Lake pack seemed to be preparing. Our Alpha, Alpha Barnard Albertson made sure that the whole pack was beautifully decorated. people were bustling about, and the tension of the festival hung in the air. My mother had mentioned the previous night that we would be going shopping for the festival, and I couldn't contain my joy. Unable to wait any longer, I rushed out of my room, still dressed in my pyjamas, and headed straight to my mother's room to remind her about our shopping plans. "Mom! Mom!" I excitedly knocked on her door. "Wake up! We're going shopping today, remember?" However, instead of my mother's response, it was my father who answered. "Yvonne, it's too early. Your mother will be ready when it's time. Don't stress her, please," he gently scolded. "Sorry," I mumbled and reluctantly went to my brother Caleb's room. Entering Caleb's room, I noticed he was still sound asleep. I knew better than to wake him; he had a bad temper when woken up from sleep. He could scream down the whole house, so I quietly left. Just as I was walking away, I heard my name being called. I turned to find Kathryn standing in front of her room. I was surprised. "What are you doing? Standing like you chasing something over there?" I asked. "I was about to come to your room when I saw you," she replied. "Look, I found this gorgeous gown on the internet. It's beautiful and classy but quite expensive," she explained. "Let me see," I said, sounding so curious. She grabbed my hand and led me into her room, and we both sat on her bed, scrolling through the internet together. "Wow! It's so beautiful," I exclaimed when I saw the dress. Kathryn sighed. "Yes, but I don't think Mom and Dad could afford it. Mom is a banker, and Dad is a doctor." "Well, I have some savings. I can contribute," I offered, eager to help my sister achieve her dream. Kathryn's eyes filled with gratitude. "Aww, that's so sweet of you. Come here," she said, pulling me into a tight hug. "Thank you so much, sis. I love you." I playfully protested, "Ahh! You're suffocating me!" "Sorry, sorry," she laughed, releasing me from her embrace. Just as we were sharing a lighthearted moment, our mother called out, breaking our reverie. "Kath! Tell your sister, you girls need to prepare. We're leaving in 30 minutes," she announced. Kathryn's reaction was quick. "s**t!" she cursed under her breath, running into the bathroom to freshen up. I, too, hurried back to my room to get ready for our shopping outing. Kathryn and I swiftly prepared ourselves to leave the house. Our mother was shouting at us through the hallway, to hurry up. As we finally gathered our things and headed for the car, our mother was waiting impatiently by the front door. "Come on, girls! We don't have all day," she urged, We entered the car, and soon, the engine roared off. During the drive, Kathryn couldn't contain her joy. "I can't believe we're finally going shopping for the Full Moon Festival, Yvonne!" I grinned, equally excited. "I know, right? It's going to be so much fun!" Our mother chimed in from the driver's seat, "It's a special day, girls. We would make the most of it." Upon arrival, the mall was bustling with shoppers, who were also preparing for the upcoming Full Moon Festival. We joined the crowds of people, our first stop was a boutique that had caught Kathryn's eye. The dress she had seen on the internet was just as stunning physically but it came with a terrific price. Kathryn hesitated for a moment before turning to me. "Yvonne, this dress is a bit pricey." I smiled at her. "Don't worry, sis. I've got some savings; remember I promised to help" Awww… she smiled. "You're the best, Yvonne. Thank you so much." "You two are such wonderful sisters. Your bond is something truly special, and I'm so proud of you both. Our mother declared. We bought the gown and continued our shopping spree, frequently checking off the list of items we needed for the festival. Decorations, accessories, and various items loaded in our shopping bags. By the time we left the mall, our arms were heavy with bags, we were brimming with happiness. We laughed and talked all through our ride back home. As we reached home, Caleb and our dad were already settled in the living room, watching their favourite TV series. They were chatting when we entered. Caleb was happy at the sight of us. "Mummy! Yvonne! Kath! You're back!" he exclaimed, jumping up from the couch.
