Miss Clara: Andy this is Elliet she will show you through your classes and help you any time you need.

She smiles as she opens the door for Andy and Elliet. The two walk out of the office.

(outside the office)

Elliet: Hey am Elliet my friends call me Ellie well if I had friends they probably would. ( Elliet smiles as she adjusts her glasses above her nose.)

Andy looks at her without saying a word.

Elliet leads the way as she shows Andy her locker.

Andy looks at Elliet's pink summer dress and black flats . She was pretty. From her blonde long hair to her big glasses. She seemed sweet to Andy so she wondered why she didn't have friends.

Elliet: Here we are.

Your own locker. and you can stick all sorts of fun stickers and glitter.

Andy: Right

Elliet was extra perky. She seemed to be such a big glitter fan Something Andy knew wasn't wise. Always have an elegant style no specific theme color.

Andy: Thanks.

Elliet: Sure. Anytime. Come on I'll show you around campus. ( with a smile on her face)

(Andy closes the locker and follows Elliet down the hall.)

Elliet: Ok so the classes are all down the hall and the labs are this way. Oh and my favorite place , the school theater. ( joyful)

Andy : You are into plays?

Elliet: I love school plays . There is music and costumes and Auther Shawn( almost blushing)

Andy: Who's Auther Shawn?

Elliet: Only the most handsome pianist in all of

history.

Andy: (as they keep walking) So how long have

guys been dating ?

Elliet: Gosh no. How do you even begin talking

to him?

Andy: Wait! You haven't talked to the guy?

Well how is he supposed to know that

you like him if you won't talk to him?

Elliet:. I don't know. Every time I want to talk

to him I get nervous and I just can't

say a word anymore.

Andy:. Wow. Never heard that before.

The two walk outside to the cafeteria where kids sit in blue and grey lunch tables at the grass before following a footpath leading into the indoor cafeteria where food is served.

Elliet: Anyway, this is the cafeteria. We all

come out here for lunch and after class

just to hang out.

squad table. No one sits there without

her permit.

Andy: Who is Madeline Miller again?

Elliet: Only the school's hottest and rich girl.

Andy:. Let me guess... is she in cheer?

Elliet: Yeah... how did you know that?

Andy: Let's just say I've watched alot of high

school movies.

Elliet: Well, Maddie is the queen bee in this

place. But I think you are prettier than

she is .

Andy: That, I agree. ( swaying her her)

Elliet: And nicer. ( smiles at her)

Andy just looks at her like she said something she's never heard before.

For a moment there was a awkward silence before they continued walking.

Elliet: ( Suddenly looking at her watch)

Oh no we are late!

Andy: Late? I didn't hear the bell ring.

Elliet: I always get to class early to mentally

get ready for class and sit at the front ( Rushing ahead)

Andy: There is the nerd in her.

Andy follows her . They both get thier books.

Elliet seems to be more in a rush than anyone else.

Andy: Elliet. Calm down. Everyone is still at the

hallway.

Elliet: (Disarranging her locker. almost in

panic.) I have to get to class seven

minutes before the bell.

Andy: Oh my pearls.

Andy stands there watching her get her stuff

in a hurry wondering if she also is a neat freak but from the look of things, she was just into her schedule.

Three guys walk towards Elliet all in the same blue jacket with school's logo on it.

The first guy: Ooh look miss Elliet running late

again.

The other two laugh as they walk past Ellie.

Elliet is embarrassed and doesn't look Andy in her eyes but looks at the floor sad.

Elliet: Come on

Elliet walks ahead of Andy upset.

Andy realized Ellie was being bullied and if those guys were doing it so were alot of people. She felt sorry for her. She'd never been bullied before.

Elliet was sad for the whole first period and Andy could only think about how sorry she felt for her . She was sweet and a nice person and she promised she's making it up to her.

The school sound system went on.

The principal: Miss Andy Jones. Please report

to the Principal's office.

Elliet and Andy turned to one another before Andy took her white Gucci bag and walked out of class.

She walked to the office where Miss Clara opened the door for her.

In the office sat her dad. New bachelor Michael Jones.

Andy was surprised to see him.

Andy: Dad? What are you doing here?

Mr.Jones: Well I missed you and decided to

come wish you good luck for your

first day of school. ( hugging her)

The principal: Your father was generous

enough to even donate to the

school's charity and basketball

team. ( smiling

Mr Jones: Go Brickscott High!

Father and daughter are left in the office to speak.

Andy: You flew all the way from New York to tell me good luck?

Mr. Jones: of course. After all you are my little girl.

Andy: Where is Alex?

Mr Jones: He's fine. He had a test today. But he misses you alot

Andy's younger brother, Alexander Jones is a sixteen your old living with their dad in New York. The court split them both after their parents divorce

Andy was sad Alex could not join their dad to California.

Andy walks Her dad outside as they talk.

Mr Jones: Honey, your mom tells me you are having a hard time with the divorce.

Andy:Am fine. Lots of kids have divorced parents.

Michael knew she was having it hard even though she didn't want to admit it.

Mr Jones: Tell you what. On my way here, I had your car flown with me.

Andy: Really?

Mr Jones: Yeah. Plus it is your car.

It is at home waiting for you to get back.

,Andy was excited. She loved her white convertible she got when she turned seventeen.

Andy hugs her dad

Andy: Thanks dad.

Mr Jones: Now remember if you need anything just call

Andy: Thanks dad.

Mr Jones: Well I have to go

Michael kisses her forehead before getting in his black Mazarati.

Andy waves at him and watches him drive away.
