Her nerves were a mess. Her heart drummed against her ribs like war. By the time she reached, the scene ahead nearly made her choke. Jordan’s Rolls Royce was parked discreetly behind a line of thick shrubs, while Niles stood further ahead, leaning on his car, smiling and waving. He looked good, casual in a baseball cap and sunglasses, the sun casting a glow across his jawline. She waved stiffly, her own smile awkward, while her brain worked like a frantic sewing machine.
