Episode 4 : Hunters

482 Words
Icarus and Venixia's relationship flourished in the weeks after their confession of love. They spent every moment they could together, discovering new parts of the city and enjoying each other's company. However, their happiness was not meant to last. One night, as they walked hand in hand through a deserted alleyway, they were ambushed by a group of hunters. The hunters were a group of humans who had made it their mission to rid the city of all supernatural beings. They had heard rumors of a vampire living in the city, and they were determined to find and destroy it. Icarus had encountered hunters before, but never like this. They were heavily armed and seemed to be well organized. He knew that they would not hesitate to kill him or Venixia if given the chance. With Venixia's safety in mind, Icarus urged her to run while he stayed behind to face the hunters. She protested, insisting that they should fight together, but he was adamant. He would not risk her life. As Venixia fled, Icarus transformed into his true form, his fangs bared and his eyes glowing red. The hunters were taken aback by his sudden transformation, but they quickly regained their composure and began to attack. Icarus fought back with all his might, but he was outnumbered and outgunned. Despite his speed and strength, he could not fend off all of the hunters at once. He was hit with a tranquilizer dart and soon found himself disoriented and weakened. The hunters wasted no time in restraining him and taking him away. Icarus knew that his fate was sealed. They would torture him and then kill him, as they had done with so many others of his kind. As he lay helpless and bound, Icarus thought of Venixia. He prayed that she had made it to safety and that she would be able to escape the hunters' grasp. He closed his eyes and waited for the inevitable. But to his surprise, he felt a sharp pain in his arm, followed by a rush of warmth. He opened his eyes to see Venixia standing over him, a determined look on her face. She had returned, armed with a makeshift stake and a vial of her own blood. She had injected him with her blood, hoping that it would give him the strength he needed to break free. With renewed vigor, Icarus broke his bonds and attacked the hunters with a fierce intensity. The hunters were caught off guard by his sudden burst of strength, and they were quickly overwhelmed. In the end, Icarus and Venixia emerged victorious. They fled the scene and went into hiding, knowing that the hunters would not give up their pursuit. But despite the danger, they were determined to stay together. They would face whatever obstacles came their way, for they knew that their love was worth fighting for.
