Melody wakes up screaming. The instant she could move, she rolls over and stuff the pillow she had been laying with into her mouth, trying to muffle the sounds, choking against her unsteady breaths. Her injuries have healed, but it came with the price of having a terrible nightmare. The venom from the poison is messing with her head. The nightmare tries to drag her back in, a new voice inside her head chattering about death and upcoming war where only darkness shall remain. The other voices are quieter, telling her to grab a sword and kill everyone around her, irrespective of who it is. The voices keep shifting around in there, grunting and moaning disturbing words. She clutches her head between her hands and pressed, wishing she could squeeze them out of her skull.
