Chapter 7 Jack hurriedly packed what he’d need for a few days. No way was he going to make it back to the ranch that night—he wasn’t that lucky. He accepted the keys to the borrowed van from Lee and set off for the city, cursing himself the entire way. He arrived at the client’s headquarters late afternoon and suffered through a vitriolic tirade from the president. Finally allowed to examine the failed unit that had led to a total shutdown, Jack had to disassemble it to find the problem. The chip was bad. It was older, and the chip should have been replaced the previous year when problems started surfacing with similar units.
