The Orphaned Alaph

Chapter 5

{Jake's P.O.V.}

    I woke up this morning super excited! It is Bella's Birthday! I got her the best gift ever. I really hope she enjoys it. I could smell the breakfast from my room. I jumped up and ran downstairs. I seen that Mr. and Mrs. Winters had made all of Bella's favorite breakfast food. I looked around and didn't see Bella anywhere. I became concerned. Mrs. Winter saw this and told me that she was still sleeping. I let out a breath that until then I didn't know I was holding. 

    "Did anyone bring her up food yet?" I asked. She shook her head no. With that I made her a plate and asked for a tray. 

    "What are you doing?" she asked as she handed me a tray.

    "I am going to take this up to Bella." I said

    "Well do not wake her. I will give you a heating tray to keep her food warm." she said back to me.  I nodded my head, and made my way upstairs. 

    Bella was a funny sleeper. I opened the door slowly and seen she was still passed out. Her hair was a mess she was half under the covers with her cheek slammed into her pillow. I think I even seen some drool coming from her mouth. I let out a light chuckle, and placed the tray down on her side table. I seen the fresh brownies and grabbed one, letting it hang from my mouth. I covered her with her blanket, and brushed her hair from her face. I grabbed another brownie from the tray and walked out of the room, closing the door softly.

    I went back down stairs ate my breakfast, and went to go back upstairs, but I heard my mom. 

    "Jake!  I need your help. Come here." she said.

    "Oh no." I said to myself, mom is going to have me busy for the rest of the day. "Your on your own till later Bella. Sorry." I said up the stairs. I walked towards where I heard my moms voice come from. 

    "Yes mom?" I said with worry in my voice. 

    "I need you to go to the mall again for me. Your dad and I got a little gift for Bella and I need you to go and pick it up. Go and hurry. Bella should be up soon and I know she is going to be looking for you. You and I both know that she hates parties. Especially ones where she is the center of attention."   she said. I nodded my head. 

    I was walking out to get my car and I walked past pack members. Saying hello, or waving. I got into my car. I was driving past the pack house and I could see neighboring pack arriving. I seen one car pull up and three males got out. They were all dressed in suits. The first was tall and tan. the second two was just as tall and a little more on the lighter side maybe related. As I drove past I got an uneasy feeling in my stomach. I watched as they all walked into the pack house. I shook off the feeling and made the trip to the mall. 

   {Bella's P.O.V.}

    I could feel the warm sun peaking it's head thru my closed curtains. I rolled over to see a tray of food. I sat up and opened the heating tray. I gasped, " It is all my favorite breakfast food." I knew that Mr. and Mrs. Winters were behind this. I smiled to myself. I dug right into the warm french toast, I poured some maple syrup on them and I swear that this is going to be a good day. I quickly finished my breakfast , brushed my hair and teeth and went to make my way downstairs. I had to go back to my room to get the trays so that I could return them to the kitchen and get something to put my brownies in. As I walking down the stairs I heard laughter of young pups filling the halls. The next thing I knew one of them had run into me and I was falling, but before I could hit the ground I felt warm hand catch me. 

     I stood to my feet. Ignoring the eyes that I could feel burning a spot in the back of my head. The pup was at my feet holding her arm.

    "Are you ok sweetie." I asked kneeling besides her so I was eye level with her.

    "Yes, Alpha." she said looking at the floor. 

    "Let me see your arm little Beth." I said with a smile. I took her small arm into my hands and made sure it was not broken. It was a little red due to it hitting me. I kissed it gently. 

    "Does it feel better now." I said. she just nodded her head still not looking at me. 

    "I am not upset with you. I know that you are just playing." I said to her smiling, while lifting her head. "        "Now go and teach those boys a lesson. You are strong, brave and beautiful. You better not let them tell you anything different then that." I said to her. She smiled a huge smile and tackled me in a huge hug, knocking me to my butt. We both giggled. I helped her to her feet and she was off. 

    I could hear her yelling the boys "Alpha told me I am stronger, and braver then you!"  Next thing I know I seen the three of them running out of the room down the hall, giggling. This put me into a great mood, knowing that as soon as I am ready I will be able to lead my pack to greatness. 

    I finally turned my attention to the person that was burning that spot in the back of head for the last twenty minutes. I was met with three tall men standing their. When I say tall, holy s**t do i mean tall. They all had to be at least seven foot tall. The two that were standing in fount looked like they could be twins and the one hanging in the back was tan and handsome.  

    "Hello Alpha Bella. I am Beta Joseph, or as everyone else calls me Joe. This is our Gamma John, and the tan one back there is our Alpha. We are from the Blue Lake pack about a hour from here." Joe said to me. Nodding his head with each introduction.

    "Hello to all of you. Welcome to the pack house. As you already seem to know I am Alpha Bella. I will have someone come and grab all your belongings and have them taken to your rooms." I said with a smile on my face. I could hear Mavie become restless in my mind and I was wondering what was the matter with her. 

    "Where are you taking those trays." the Alpha asked. 

    "To the kitchen. I am sure you gentlemen are hungry after your travels. If you follow me I can show you where the kitchen is and you may help yourself to anything that is available." I said to him. Why didn't Beta Joe tell me his name. This made me wonder hard. I knew that he had just taken over the Blue Lake pack a few months back but i never did find out the new Alphas name.

    "Yes please." Gamma John said.

    I lead the way to the kitchen and Mrs. Winters was standing by the sink washing up the dishes from this mornings meal. 

    "Mrs. Winters. This is Beta Joe, Gamma John and there Alpha. They are hungry from there travels and would like something to eat." I said as I put the trays down on the counter. She nodded her head at me and started to make three plates and warming them. 

    "Please sit at the island and we will have something for you guys to eat momentarily." I said. I went to the sink gently placing the dishes in the sink and then going to find something to put the brownies in. After placing them into a container I offered one to each of the men. 

    "They are to die for, Mrs. Winters make the best brownies ever." I said with a smile and each of them took one. I smiled and went over to the sink to wash my dishes. 

    "Young lady get away from those right this minute." Mr. Winters said as he walked into the kitchen with his hands full of groceries for tonight's event.

    "But.." I started to say, but Mr. Winters interrupted me. "Any other day I would gladly let you do whatever you wanted but not today. It is your birthday after all." he said with a smile. I was defeated. I nodded my head and dried my hands. I hugged Mrs. Winters and told her that everything was wonderful this morning. She just smiled at me and told me to go get ready. 

    "The rest of the guest will be here soon. You need to go get ready. I will make sure that everyone gets settled into their rooms and everything they brought is as well."  she said to me. I nodded my head and went upstairs to get ready.
