The Orphaned Alaph

Chapter 7

{Bella's P.O.V.}    

    After Auntie May come up and helped me finishing getting ready. I sat in my chair in front of my mirror staring at myself. I looked so grownup now. My hair was in place ,the hair broach really brought it all together. I was amazed at how much I still looked like me even with all this fancy stuff on. I sighed in content. I nodded at my self in the mirror, and deiced that I had just enough time to get one game in. I walked over to my T.V. turning it on. Just then I heard a knock at my door.

    "Bella are you still in here."  it was Jake. 

    "Yea, come on in."  I said in reply.

    Jake came in with a box in his hand. He looked at the T.V. and just shook his head. He looked great , his black tux fit him perfectly. He wore a white shirt and he had a red bow tie on. 

    "What happened to your crazy  bow tie? I asked.

    "I wanted to match you. So I deiced that I will save that for another time." he said smiling. I smiled back at him, and patted the spot next to me.

    "Bella close your eyes." he said. I nodded my head, and did as he asked. The next thing I knew I could feel his hands by my wrist, clipping something around it. Then I felt him place a ring on my middle finger of my right hand. He turned over my left hand and put a small card in it. "Go ahead and open them." he said. 

    I looked down to my right hand and seen that it was a ring with my birthstone in it. It was breath taking. "On the inside band it has and engraving." he said to me. I slipped it off my finger and it said. 

    May the Moon Goddess Bless you always. 

    I then looked over to my wrist and on it sat a simple white gold bracelet. and the very end there was one diamond. I quickly flipped over my hand and seen that he also go me a gift card for coffee. I giggled in delight! 

    "Thank you!  This is all so much! I can not wait to have you come and enjoy coffee with me! " I said with excitement. 

    "Anything for my best friend." he said wrapping me in a hug. "Now what about a quick game before we have to go downstairs and get this party started." he said. I nodded my head. 

    We ended up playing maybe three rounds. I lost two and won one. Jake was over the moon excited that he beat me finally. He looked down at his watch and said "s**t, we are late." he jumped off the bed and walked to the door. "I will go down first and tell mom that you couldn't make up your mind in the shoe department." he said walking out. I nodded my head and jumped off the bed as well. I walked over to my closet and put on the black sparkly shoes that Faith had picked out for me. I looked at myself in the mirror and took a deep breath. I made sure I looked perfect and walked out my room and down the stairs. 

    As I was walking downstairs I could hear the music playing softly, and I was hit with a million different smells  of food. I heard someone say "Here she comes!". The next thing I know all eyes were on me. 

    {Alpha Matthews P.O.V.}

    "How is someone late to their own party?" I said in my head. The party had started twenty-five minutes ago and she was no where to be found. Everyone was mingling and eating appetizers. Joe and John were standing next to me. Music was playing softly in the background. My mom would be jealous of this party. Everything had a place and it was not to much. I heard someone say "Here she comes." . I walked over to the stairs and my jaw instantly hit the floor. She was wearing a bright red dress, hair was falling gracefully on her shoulders. She was stunning.

    Close your mouth before a fly lands in it!  I heard Dom say. 

    Is this even the same girl I met earlier! She is a straight Goddess!

    Yes you dumb mut! That is the same Bella you met earlier. Maybe you should stop judging a book by it's covers now. 

    Yea, Yea.

    I seen that the Beta Ronnie was going to the bottom of the stairs holding out his hand for Bella to take. She took it, and I could feel a low growl leave my throat. I seen her then wrap he arm around his. He placed a small kiss on her head, and they started to walk to the ballroom. I instantly got jealous and I am not sure why. The crowd followed them and she took her place at the head table. Beta Ronnie took the microphone and started to speak. 

    "Thank you all for coming to this event tonight. Our Alpha, Bella is thankful you all could make it here. Please take your seats, dinner will be served momentarily."

    With that the kitchen doors swung open. Plates upon plates where being brought out. Each table was filled soon with tons of food. I could not believe my eyes. Everyone started to dig in, including myself. After dinner I could see Bella walking around greeting all the guest, making small talk , some even looked to be business deals. I seen her excuse herself from a group and walk outside. 

    I followed. The winter air was crisp here, but the view was breath taking. I had grabbed a blanket off a near by couch and took it outside with me. I seen her standing their holding her arms. I walked up behind her placing the blanket around her shoulders. Instantly I felt tingles down my body. My touch had seemed to make her jump. 

    "I am sorry Alpha Bella, I did not mean to scare you. I just seen you walked out here with no jacket and wanted to make sure you were ok." I said with a smile on my face. 

    She turned her face to look at me. Goodness she is gorgeous. "Thank you Alpha. I just needed a moment to myself."  she said. I just nodded my head and we stood there in silence for a moment. 

    "By the way I do not think you said your name earlier. May I ask what it is?"  she said looking at me. 

    I chuckled. Looking back I realized that Joe never did say my name, he just called me Alpha. "It is Matthew." I said with a smile. 

    "Well it is a honor to finally meet you Alpha Matthew." she said. "and thank you for earlier." I looked at her confused. "I am guessing from your face that it was not you who caught me before I fell earlier then." she said. 

    "Oh. No that was my Beta Joe." 

    "Well then I will have to find him and thank him myself." she said. 

    At that moment a gust of wind blew, making Bella's hair fall onto her face. She took a deep breath in, hugging the blanket. I reached over and tucked her hair behind her ear. The warmth and sensation I felt roll onto my finger tips calmed me. She turned her head to look me straight into my eyes.  Did she feel it too?

{Bella's P.O.V.}

    A cold gust of wind blew, making my hair fall onto my face. I loved the way the cold air smelled here so I took a deep breath in. Before I could release it I felt a warm tingling feeling hit my ear. I turned my head to look at Matthew. I made eye contact with him. I was lost in his green eyes. They sparkled with hope and love. Did he feel the same thing I did? What is happening here, I must be going crazy. There is no way that....

    "MATE! WE FOUND OUR MATE BELLA! " Mavie was screaming in my head!

    "Calm down Mavie! What do you mean we found our mate! We barley even know this man."  I said back to her. 

    "That feeling we felt, that is the mate bond silly." 

    OH s**t!! Did we just really find our mate, f**k I was not expecting that! Did he know too? He had to have felt the sparks between us. Mavie was doing zig-zags in my head. Howling in excitement. I pushed her to the back of my mind. Still looking at him I felt my cheeks starting to burn with blush. 

    "Umm, I probably should get back inside before everyone thinks I am hiding. " I said. Slapping myself  mentally .

    "Of course. We can catch up again at a later time. I will tell Joe that you are looking for him." He said with a smile. A wonderful smile at that. 

    He opened the door for me, and as my foot hit the the tile I started to fall. Two huge arms wrapped themselves around my waist. Fitting perfectly. I instantly felt sparks fly between us.  I looked up and it was Matthew. He was looking down at me with a huge smile plastered on his face. I slowly brought myself to my feet. 

    "Thank you."  I said , fixing my dress and my hair. He just nodded and walked away finding his friends. I stood motionless for a few more moments. Scared to move. Wondering what had just happened. Questioning if he had felt it all too. I could see Jake walking over to me and I was trying to look natural, but I knew that I was going to be asked a ton of questions. I took a deep breath and meet him halfway. 

    "What was that all about!" he asked me, looking in the direction of Matthew.

    "What do you mean?"  I asked looking at him. Raising my eyebrow.

    "Why was he holding you like that, and why were you two outside."  he looked at me with a blank look in his eyes.

    "It was nothing. I had walked outside to clear my head. He saw that I went out and come to check on me. Is that a crime Jake?" I asked with amusement in my voice. "And what you just seen was someone helping YOUR Alpha not fall on her ass on her birthday!" I said with a smile. You are dead wrong if you thought I was going to tell him about the sparks I felt between the two of us. Jake just nodded his head. and took me by the arm. 

    "It is time to party now!"  he said while pulling me back into the ballroom and to the dance floor. How could I tell my best friend no. We started dancing like crazy people and soon we had the whole guest list out there dancing with us as well. My feet started to hurt so I deiced that it was time to take off my shoes. I slipped into the kitchen and plopped down on the closes chair. I could hear the cheering from the ballroom and just smiled. Jake must be break dancing. I giggled to myself. 

    "Well you have some fancy moves there Alpha."  A voice said. I turned my head to my shoulder, it was Matthew. 

    "Thanks Alpha Matthew."  I said with a smile, rubbing my feet.

    "No need to call me Alpha Matthew, you can just call me Matt." he smiled. "Here let me help you." he motioned to my feet, sitting next to me and pulling them to his lap. I felt the sparks tickling my toes as he rubbed my feet.    

    "You do not have to do that"  I said softly.

    "I want to."  he said smiling. After a few moments he stopped. He seen that my eyes were closed. "Bella?" he asked. 

    "Yea?" I said with my eyes still closed. 

    "You ready to go back? "

    "Yes. I have to get different shoes. I can not wear these ones anymore. My feet may fall off."  I said. He laughed at me and said "Well lets go get you different ones."       

    We made our way to the stairs , and went to the third floor. I opened my door and walked in going straight to my closet to change into a comfy pair of shoes. I took a pair of black flats and threw them on. When I walked out I seen him looking at the last picture of my parent and I .

    "Who are they?" he asked.

    "My parents. This is the last picture I have of them before they passed." I said to him. I could feel my eyes filling with tears. He brought his hand to my face wiping the single tear that had fallen. The sparks that I felt were intense. The next thing I knew his lips had crashed onto mine. I welcomed it. I leaned into the kiss like it would be the last thing I ever did. He pulled away keeping his hand on the small of my back. 

    "So you feel it too?"  he asked. I just nodded.  He hugged me hard, kissing the top of my head. "I thought that maybe something was wrong with me. Bella we are mates given to each other by the Moon Goddess." he said. 

    "I know . Mavie told me earlier when you caught me." I said.

    "I am assuming Mavie is your wolf?" he asked. I just nodded. He brought me into a hug again. "We can talk after your party. Right now I need to get you back." he said. "Can you promise me somthing?" I asked. "Of course." he said. "Can you not say anything about this just yet." I said back to him with worry in my eyes. "Of course not." he said with a smile plastered on his face. We walked back downstairs and I went one way and he went the other.
