STRANGE SURROUNDINGS

842 Words
The bright light in the room made it hard for me to open my heavy eyes. I blinked a few times before I was able to adjust to the brightness in the room. A moan escaped my lips as I tried to move my body. Everything hurt. Even the extremely soft bed did nothing to smooth the pain I felt. How is the bed so soft? My bed is not that soft. I jolted up from bed with all the alarms ringing in my bed. I looked around to see I was not in my room, nor was I in Jace’s room and that was a big relief. I touched my head to see there was no blood, but a band-aid wrapped around my head. I also had a little band-aid on my arm and leg. A sigh left my lips as I recalled everything that happened yesterday. A sudden sadness washed over me at how stupid I was to trust someone like Jace. My eyes snapped at the door as it opened, a very tall man walked into the room. I have seen huge men, but this man was tall and huge, his arms were literally the size of my head, probably bigger. His black shirt was wrapped around his body like a second skin, he paired it with black pants and black shoes. “You are awake, How are you feeling?” My stomach tightened at the sound of his voice, it was deep and smooth like moving silk on your skin. “I am fine, thank you.” I answered, and my voice was raw and raspy. In comparison to his voice, mine sounded awful. He finally walked closer to the bed and my breath hitched in my throat. If I wasn’t conscious I would be drooling all over myself as I stared at him. The man in front of me was flawless, carved into perfection. He was gorgeous, the kind of look that made Henry Cavil look like Timothy Chalamet if they stood side by side. His silky black hair gelled to the back, his piercing gray eyes sent shivers down my spine in a good way. “I am glad, Susan will bring you breakfast in twenty minutes.” The man said. I stared at him for a few seconds. “Thank you for saving me, but I want to leave. I think I have overstayed,” A cold chuckle escaped his lips, “Leave? It seems you’ve forgotten everything that happened last night, Rose. Allow me to remind you. You begged me to save you, saying you would do ANYTHING for me.” I could not help but notice the way he emphasized on the anything, a pit dropped in my stomach as I remember how I knelt down begging this man to save me. “I was scared and desperate, those were just words.” I said. “Not to me, Rose, they are more than words. You placed your life in my hands the moment you promised to do anything in order to save yourself.” He explained. A frown settled on my face, “How do you know my name? I never told you.” “Do you think I would allow a random woman into my house without knowing who she is? I had you checked, and I know you were cheated on and abused by your boyfriend, Jason Griffin,” He explained, tapping his fingers, playing on the table beside him. My eyes widened, the air somehow becoming suffocating. “What, what do you want from me?” “I want you to hold your part of the deal, I saved you, and you have to do the ANYTHING I demand in return,” he said. My hands began to shake. How the hell did I run away from one man's claws just to end up in another man’s claws? I was not going to be caged by another man. I will not allow this to happen, I must escape from this place. I stood up from the bed and began to head towards the door, ignoring the shaking of my weak legs. Before I could get to the door, I felt fingers wrap around my arm tightly, but not tight enough to hurt me. He pulled me backwards and a gasp escaped my lips, I was standing in front of him with my hands flattened on his very hard chest. I never considered myself short, but standing before this man I was beginning to consider that we were standing close, so close that I could smell him, his rich musky manly smell. He smelt sweet, dangerous yet intoxicating. Looking close up at him, he was even more beautiful, painfully beautiful. “You cannot leave Rose, you know that I am the only one that can protect you from your abusive boyfriend. I know you are an orphan and have no friends, so you have nowhere to go to.” His minty breath fanning my face sent shivers down my spine.
