Chapter 16 Down and down we went on a narrow winding track amongst ever taller pillars of stone. The ‘Bot must have seen me looking up and said, “Down here the Police Drones can’t see us; too much static interference from the stones.” The day turned to dusk and it began to get very dark for us in the narrow stone canyons. I switched my oculars to night-setting and that was only a little better because of the burnt and blackened stonework. After about an hour we crossed a rusting steel bridge over the river Thames and I detected a glow of light somewhere ahead. “Nearly there.” My companion said and quickened his pace.
