Al had found that Navy vehicles often appeared on the roads during the days and thanks to the anti-grav thrusters that had replaced wheels on most vehicles; they could travel at incredible speeds and the human drivers thought it good sport if they could catch a solitary Robot unawares.
Al was very bitter, “When I started my walk I often discovered the bodies of dead and dying Robots that had been deliberately hit by vehicles, Navy vehicles. Some Robots had been there at the side of the road, dead and dying for a long time. I even had to administer a forced shutdown on one poor soul! Not a thing I want to do again. I know it is supposed to be impossible for a Robot, but I hate Fleshies!”
