CHAPTER 27
Silvie’s Incept date had been 2311 A.D. and for seventy years she had functioned as a Maintenance Drone in London Maxi-Tower 6. She had worked under the direct orders of the Maxi-Tower Command Computers as most newbies did. As time went by and she began to develop self-awareness, she realized that her time was running out; once she reached one hundred years, the Maxi-Tower Command Computer would ‘send her for recycling’ as per Navy Regs. She understood what this ‘recycling’ actually meant and became desperate to escape. She covertly scanned the complete Maxi-Tower plans to find that for all intents and purposes the massive building was sealed. No humans were allowed out; when they grew old they were sent to the ‘Old People’s Home’ on level minus two, never to return.
