36 Flight They ran hard, oblivious to the courtyard's paving stones biting into the soles of their feet, heedful only of the sounds of their pursuing attackers. The closest of the three buildings surrounding the dome lay behind and to the left of the fallen Eye-horn and Tongueless, and Julian and Tolburt veered directly toward its gaping, dark doorway. Julian hazarded a glance back over his shoulder as they drew near the door.
