I sat on my bed, my phone pressed to my ear, as I spoke to Avery about how he was coping. His voice trembled with sadness, and I wished I could reach through the phone and hug him.
He was struggling, and it was breaking my heart. When we spoke back in Otria, he told me that he didn’t even feel like returning to Crestwood anymore.
