“Gosh, I missed your cooking, Sophie,” Kaela moaned after taking a bite of my mum's gratin.  “That's why you should have visited,” mum said, “I'd have made something for you,”  “I got to eat her heavenly meals,” Shadow smiled at my mum, “I used to come from time to time,”  “Good boy,” mum patted his head, making everyone laugh.  My friends and I gathered at my parents' apartment for dinner, and even if it was only for a moment, we could forget the drama and replace it with laughter and inspiring conversation.  “Tyler, are you going to watch Saturday's match?” dad asked, and Tyler nodded, “Of course!
