The next morning, I wake up feeling refreshed. Rested.
I stretch my arms above my head, letting out a groan as my joints crack.
I roll over on the bed, my eyes opening in surprise.
Lorenzo is staring down at me, his blue eyes piercing through mine.
“How did you get in here?” I ask quietly.
His brow furrows. “I always come in here when you’re sleeping.”

“Because I like it,” he answers, shrugging.

“Elena.” Lorenzo’s voice is softer than I’ve ever heard it before. “I need to ask you something.”
My pulse quickens in my neck, my heart starting to pound. “Okay,” I whisper.
He trails a finger over my jawline, his touch making my skin shiver. “Do you like me touching you?”
