Later...Maybe

*Marisha*POV* I can't seem to feel time moving. It has to have been ten minutes atleast, both of us just staring at eachother. "What's y-your n-name again? I don't remember s-seeing you before?" I barely manage to stammer out, but he's like an angel, there's isn't a flaw to be seen anywhere on him except a small scar on his cheek. Barely visible against his pale skin. He's not from around here that's for sure; the accent, the way he carries himself, and the style of his clothes don't say 'small town Ohioan' like everyone else I've seen in this podunk town. "My name is Kaden, I'm in your political sciences class. I can't help but to tell you, I think you are absolutely beautiful and I would be honored if you'd come out with me sometime? maybe I can get your number and we can talk about it?" His silky smooth voice matches everything else about him, it's unnerving. Its like a melody in my ears. Did he seriously just say I'm pretty? Am I hallucinating?...He's staring at me again, words Marisha, WORDS! "Umm...I don't really date, to tell you the truth, I'm just not a very social person..." my voice cracks like I've just swallowed a mouthful of sand. "well, no one said you had to be social. I'm only one person, and I've been wanting to ask for your telephone number since class started but I didn't have the guts. But if you don't want to, I understand completely, I am a stranger, I get it" He says sweetly, he looks hurt by my rejection but he could easily have anyone he wants, why would he even be interested in me? What if he hurts me? what if he's crazy? But I have never been asked out before, maybe he will be like all those love stories I've been wrapped in for all these years? "umm... well...I mean... I guess... I could give you my number and we could see how it goes, but I don't know you so I'm not agreeing to anything other than texting..." I manage after what feels like a half an hour of us staring at eachother. Kaden's face illuminates like I've just given him the greatest Christmas gift he's ever receive and I feel almost guilty for not readily accepting the date. He seems to understand my reservations and slides me his phone through the window c***k, I add my phone number to a new contact with my first name only. He could still be a psycho after all... I send a quick text to myself so that I can have his number and I'm not blindsided when he texts me randomly. I hear the small tone of a received message from the phone in my lap and quickly slide his phone back through my driver's side window for him. Just as I'm about to pull my hand away our fingers graze one another and it's as if electricity sparks up my arm and it freaks me out! I knew something was weird. Is he trying to electrocute me? What is going on here?! I jerk my hand back quickly and say "well, have a good day. hope to hear from you soon!" start my car and back out of my parking spot as quickly as possible. I have to get out of here! I'm due at work in 15 minutes?! How long were we staring at eachother? I had more than an hour to grab coffee and relax after class before I even had to think about heading to work, now I'll be lucky if I can even get to work on time! *Kaden*POV* She felt the electricity of true love, I know she felt it. But being a human and the way she reacted, I assume she thought I was trying to hurt her. I would never hurt her of course but she has yet to learn that about me. In due time my dove, in due time. My phone begins ringing the incessant drone that I've assign Herra and I'm almost tempted to ignore it but that'll never do. I swipe up to answer the call... "Yes Herra, what ever could you need from me today?" I almost hiss. "Well, aren't we a testy one today. you know after 500 years of friendship people may assume that you might be nicer to me at some point..." Herra clammers on about nonsense for a few minutes, her way of avoiding the topic completely. But I know her better than that, "Spit it out Herra, I may be immortal but I don't have all day...out with it woman" I laugh. "Right well, umm... regrettably my love, your father demands you take a wife within the year or the counsel overthrows the kingdom. They've given you ample time to sow your oats and find your 'one true love' that you've been so adamant about. But it's becoming too much for the old man, the counsel wants a new king, a new heir, and more lineage. Your out of time darling". I can hear Herra almost in tears, she knows how vigorously I've been searching for Marisha. I've kept in touch and told her everything for the last few centuries. "I'm getting close Herra, I swear. I've finally spoken with her. She's given me her phone number, I'll woo her and finally she will be mine, it'll be great. I need more time. humans don't even believe in true love anymore..." I almost scream to the rooftops hoping Herra will understand what position I am in. Herra sighs heavily and I can feel her t*****e. Against my better judgement, Herra will never leave the kingdom. She loves me viciously as a friend and brother but she has never found her true love either. I tried many times to convince her to come out into the world with me and search for her person but her loyalty is always with the kingdom even if it means she can never find her one true love. See the amazing thing about being a half breed vampire is all the advantages. My mother was a human in the dark ages when my father fell in love with her. He was already a few hundred years old and my mother was 15. Back in those times women married young, had babies, cooked, cleaned and managed the children and house until they died. And that is exactly what my mother did, she organized an entire kingdom and raised me until she was too old to hold on any longer. I can walk in the daylight because of her. I learned my discipline, manners, and how to love someone more than myself from my mother. Even though she loved my father fiercely, she never allowed him to turn her. My mother knew her time would come and embraced it, knowing all too well the ego and ineptitude that comes from being immortal, She was the only woman I both loved and feared until I saw Marisha. I would give Marisha my immortality on a silver platter if she just batted and eyelash in my direction. Where I've always been smooth, charismatic, and impressionable; I cannot be that with her, she makes me so nervous. I cannot read her mind, most every human is susceptible to telepathy but there's something about her. I just can't figure out what it is other than I'm hopelessly in love with her... Hopefully she will see me soon.
