“I have to-” Abe began, confirming his reluctance with his tone. I spun around and interrupted him with a short kiss. “I know.” I smiled and then realised I just sighed too, in reply to his sigh of reluctance. My heart was going to ache soon, when he was gone. He kissed me back again, before lightly tracing up along my arm with the back of his hand, and then back down to my hand before holding it in his, guiding me up to stand with him and walk to the door. “Angelo is staying on the perimeters tonight.” “Okay.” I nodded thankfully and tried to smile, but really hoped that Abe could have been staying closer. Though his promise of picking me up tomorrow for an afternoon date at ‘our place’ was all I could hang onto, to cope with his absence now. As I stayed in the open doorway watching
