Chapter 4: Escape

~Ruby's P.O.V~

I tried the door handle, but no luck. s**t. I was cornered. His disgusting hand came to my cheek and caressed it. His black eyes filled with lust, a Werewolf, no doubt, we have never come into close contact before. I can see it now though, they were filled with want, desire, lust and images of me. "I know what you are, darling. A Unicorn so far from home?" Damn, Werewolves would do anything to get a woman in bed.

"It's none of your damn business, Oliver." I stared straight into his eyes, not giving him the satisfaction that he scared me.

"You're in my territory, love. When a magical being enters my domain, it becomes my business." He had me on that one. Now it all makes sense, why I could never catch him.

"Don't you have a mate to go find? I hear your precious Moon Goddess gifts you with them." I could feel his rank coming from him. He was no high level wolf, no, he was an Alpha wolf. And a strong one at that.

"I rejected her long ago, lovely." His chest met mine, I could feel the rumbling of his growls. "Tell me why a creature like yourself is so far from her herd? I thought Alpha Mares forbade their kind from leaving." His teeth were coming out.

"If you must know, I left on my own. I became a lone mare by choice." I was not going to give him anymore information. His hand moved to my neck, he was studying my lips for a moment.

"And what are you doing in my territory?" His voice low as his head came closer.

"I was just trying to have a fun night out. I didn't know this club was yours." It was the truth.

"I see. Why not stay with me, then? Hm?" His lips almost on top of mine. "I could support you, keep the ruffians off your tail. Come on, darling. I know you want me." I tried to push him away, but his lips clashed with mine. I struggled against it, his hand slid down to my thigh, stroking it. I wanted nothing to do with this man. I bit his tongue and kicked him in the balls. His grunt of pain made me feel better. "So incredibly feisty. Very well." He shifted into his wolf. A big black wolf with razor sharp teeth and claws. He was growling at me. I am going to be Alpha Mare, I will not stand down. I too shifted into my Unicorn and stomped down. Luckily the music was too loud for people to hear. My horn ready for his attack, but he only growled and snapped at me. You're her?! The white mare with the gemstone?!

What of it?!

You will make a lovely prize for me to keep locked up! I will have you! I will take you every night! And I will let my pack have you! 

Keep dreaming, Oliver! He came at me full force, a Werewolf's weakness? Their anger. He was so blind with rage that he didn't notice I was already ready for a counter attack. I swiftly turned my body and bucked him in the jaw. Making him whimper and fall to the ground, he was stunned. This was my chance, I shifted back to my human form, broke the window and jumped out. 

"Catch her!" He shifted back too. "She is my prize!" The bouncers all looked hungrily at me. s**t! I was once again cornered. They were all wolves? I am f****d. As I was thinking that, a hand grabbed me and pulled me away. 

"Come on! I know a way out!" It was the vulgar man from earlier. He led me through the club and to the back door. I was completely naked and it was already dark out. I covered my breasts as we ran, I saw him pull out a cell phone and call someone. I could only hear my own heartbeat, I was so scared, he could have taken me. I was vulnerable to him. We stopped at a nearby gas station, I could hear the howls of Oliver's pack. "Here." He handed me his trench coat. "It's not much. But, you should cover up." I took it from him and put it on. "You just had to come and ruin it, didn't you? I was undercover, Miss. Nicholson! I almost had the bastard!" He was angry? At me?

"What are you talking about?!" 

"I was about to join his pack! Then, I could bring my own pack here and take him out!" He was a wolf too?! Where are they all coming from?

"A pack war? Really? Why?" We Mythic creatures know each others lives inside and out. The wolves are pack oriented, as are the Unicorns, Vampires are small covens that hunt alone, Fairies are tiny infernal things that cause inconvenience to the rest of us and are mischievous at the best of times, Mermaids live alone until they find a Merman. Sirens steal the Mermen and kiss them to feed, while dragons only live for their gold and eating lost herds of sheep or cattle. They lost their taste for humans hundreds of years ago.  

"Because he declared it after Willow rejected him. She didn't want anything to do with a murderous wolf." Oh! So, he lied. Got it.

"Willow?" He looked at me.

"Yes. The now Luna of the Crystal Moon Pack. She found her second chance mate. The Alpha Anthony Hollins of the Crystal Moon Pack." Anthony, a ruthless yet good Alpha. His name is known world wide.

"I am glad she did. Now, you were a spy?" It was obvious at this point.

"Were. The main word here. You blew that wide open." He threw his hands in the air. "What is a Unicorn doing here? You should go back to your herd!" He pointed passed me.

"I can't! I left them 18 years ago!" His eyes suddenly read pity in them. For f***s sake, can't anyone leave me the hell alone?

"Why?" He asked. I almost didn't hear it.

"My Alpha hated me. Abused me. Killed my parents for their sin of bringing me into the world..." 

"Are you by any chance that Gemstone mare?" Oh great, now he is going to want me for himself too.

"I am." Of course, that story would be all over the Mythical news.

"Go to Dracula's island. Hide there. Alpha Oliver will stop at nothing to search for you." Was he serious? Dracula would want nothing to do with me.

"He would turn me away, you know that. Not to mention, I wouldn't be able to get passed his barriers." The man breathed in and out before looking back at me.

"Drac and I go way back. I'm..." He was blushing. A wolf blushing? Jeez. "I'm the one that pulled the stake from his heart. He owes me." I was shocked. I heard it was his own kin that did that. "I'll call him and let him now you are wanting sanctuary from the rest of the Mythical world."

I gave up, whatever. "Fine. Just let me call my boss and let him know that an emergency family thing came up." It was then that my own phone rang. I picked it up. "Hello?"

"Miss?! Oh, thank God. I need help!"

"Katie? What's wrong?" She was crying.

"I did as you said and asked the guy out. But, as soon as we were alone, he tried to rape me." I heard banging.

"Come out! Who are you talking to?!" I heard the door being swing open. Then, the line went dead. I looked to my companion. 

"Fine. I'll come with you. As extra protection." We shifted into our true forms and ran for the heart of Salem. Keeping to the shadows of the woods was hard for me, I feel like the moon just made it easier for anyone to spot me. Though, I'd be lying if I didn't feel at home with the softness of the dirt beneath my hooves. I could feel the magic swirling into me once more. Rejuvenating my tired body, I haven't felt this energized in so long, it was like having 20 cups of venti Monster drinks. The trees were my guides, the ground was my sanctuary, the wind is my mother. 

        20 long minutes passed before I caught the scent of Katie, once I did I followed it. It was becoming increasingly harder to hide as a Unicorn. Stopping before we went further.

I-I have a um... Favor to ask. I looked to the man, of course he was going to see me nude again, but I can't hide in the shadows like he could. He's a dark brown wolf with green eyes. He won't be spotted in the middle of the night.

What? Did you lose her? I shook my head.

Can you um... carry me from here? My coat... Humans will see me. He gave out a disgruntled groan of frustration.

Sure. Just don't scream when I go faster than you. I nodded my head. Shifting back to my human self. He leaned down for me to get on his back. I didn't hesitate and got on his back. Once he knew I was secure, he bolted. I told him which way to go and where to turn. When we got to her house, I went up and kicked the door down to a horrific scene.
