14 Mackenzie –––––––– THE REST OF THE WEEK went by fairly quickly. I picked up some extra hours at work, including Wednesday, which was when Grandma Rae had her “friend” John Carson over for dinner. I was just leaving to pick up my uniform from the drycleaner when he first appeared on the doorstep. He was tall and thin with short white hair. “You must be Mackenzie,” he said, beaming a warm and friendly smile from our porch. He reminded me a little of Anderson Cooper, only with glasses.
