MACKENZIE CHANGED INTO one of my Gopher’s T-shirts and a pair of boxers. We both grabbed a pillow and made ourselves comfortable on the bed. I had a feeling she was trying to avoid getting too close to me. I got it. I knew she wanted to keep her distance. I was just happy she was there and we were getting along. As much as I wanted more, I’d give her as much time and space as she needed.
The movie was actually pretty gruesome. There were several jump-scares and eventually, she started clinging to me during the creepy parts. She’d squeal and cover her eyes and snuggle closer.
