“I still don’t get it, though, girl. Why would he do that? It just doesn’t make any sense.”
“I know. I keep asking myself the same question. But he had the stuff hidden in his apartment, so he’s obviously not being honest with me. Oh, and get this! Apparently, he stopped over at Mattie’s the night of the accident. He never told me about that either.” I let out a ragged sigh. “What if our relationship has been a sham the whole time? What if it’s been just another f*****g game to him?”
