I HAD TO ADMIT, WARNING bells were going off in my head. This seemed weird, even for Mattie. But, Mackenzie was enjoying herself and I didn’t want to take that away from her.
As we made our way to the middle of the mansion, we met up with the rest of the crowd. There were several tour guides leading people to different parts of the house, so we followed a group climbing up the spiral staircase. We then headed toward the west wing and found it blocked off by yellow tape and KEEP OUT signs. Of course, there were people around, so we had to wait until nobody was looking before sneaking into the wing.
“Okay, where to now?” Mackenzie whispered as we headed down the corridor, passing several bedrooms. It was dark so we had to use our cell phone lights.
